Another one with sort of cheesy aromas think cottage cheese... but mixed in with dried fruit and some citrus and red berries — 9 years ago
Really loving this. Vibrant nose of carbonic red fruit/cherry/raspberry, flowers/hibiscus/rose, savoury herbs. Drinking it is very enjoyable. The fruit is more sour cherry/cranberry balanced by those herb notes and with some dirt/earth minerality. Blind, I would probably call this Beaujolais. — 9 years ago
Great wine. Served with molasses cake, cottage cheese — 10 years ago
This wine is killer. Everyone loves Napa Valley fruit... But Napa Mountain fruit?! Forget about it! Love the Howell mountain! The red fruit nose jumps out of the glass but then it shows its age mixing in spices: cocoa powder, cardamom, and tobacco. Delicious! — 10 years ago
A spiced bowlful of cherries and red currants. Warm, soft, just enough vanilla to ensure a velvety finish. Yum. — 10 years ago
Light, crisp with a subtle vanilla finish. Really enjoyable. Had this in Bure River Cottage Restaurant in Horning, Norfolk with tiger prawns and monkfish with salsa verdi. Lovely evening and delicious food & wine. — 10 years ago

Sweet, chocolate, vanilla. Smooth, never would have guessed Sangiovese! Really liked this. Blind — 10 years ago
So full bodied and peppery. Tastes like a delicious blend of cab sauv and zinfandel. Drank this at Bear Creek Cottage with a delicious meal of steak, grandad's potatoes and fresh corn on the cob over Fourth of July weekend! — 11 years ago
Nicely balanced — 12 years ago

Busted this bottle out a while back! Probably in my top 5 wines I have had in recent years. St. Ralph The Liar is a great name too! Dark Fruit for days!!! This was a great 2007 Howell Mountain! — 11 years ago
Very drinkable, and a little sweet. :) — 12 years ago

Howell Mountain never disappoints, cassis, black fruit, some plum, tobacco, leather, lots of minerals. Nice long finish, with some tannins still present. Outstanding. — 8 years ago
