Happy Father’s Day. Pop and pour Tig full of rustic elegance. Deep garnet color with notes of wet forest, tobacco, blackberry, plum, leather, and wet earth. Additional chocolate and oak notes on the pallet. Smooth as velvet, on the bolder side (definitely full bodied); dry with medium acidity, medium alcohol and smoothed out tannings. Cheers. — 5 years ago
Not very good at rating wines flavors or essence or whatever it is wine people do! But this tasted like drinking dark chocolate and raspberry! — 6 years ago
Blue fruits, touch of cedar on nose. Big with plums and dark chocolate. Bordeaux on steroids, 15.3% ABV! Had with rib eye and wedge salad. — 6 years ago
Nose is cedar, herb, and leather. Medium body. Raspberry, red currant, and dark chocolate with really nice tannin throughout. Long finish is currant and cranberry. This wine is delicate. Overpowered by aged Gouda. Drink with Brie and French bread.
I pulled a classic and was just a bit disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, still great, but for the anticipation... I have one more bottle that I’ll wait a long time and hope there’s a big payoff.
Interesting note, the 2013 Heitz Cellar in the background was remarkably similar in fruit, weight, and profile. 1/3 the price and I’m giving it a 92. — 7 years ago
Not worth its weight in gold nor wine. Over priced but I’d pay for the label all day everyday. Hahaha the French are annoying — 8 years ago
Showing restraint, chocolate, balance, impressive. — 9 years ago
Sweet and a good mouth feel. You can taste the berries and chocolate. — 10 years ago
Smooth and silky. Great Cab. Chocolate and vanilla. Not overly complex or oaky. — 11 years ago
Violet color with exuberant dark fruit, white pepper, roasted meat, and hints of olive tapenade and eucalyptus aromas. On the palate, it's full bodied and ripe with very good acidity, soft well integrated tannins, and luscious blackberry, black cherry, plum, bittersweet chocolate, and spice flavors. Long finish. — 11 years ago
Color looks pretty good, nice and dark. Nose: licorice, coffee, chocolate, a whiff of black olives, toffee, wood, some spice or herb I can’t identify, a bit of “purple” - I guess that’s cassis. Good sign. Taste: a little sweet, a lot of that fruity-toffee-coffee taste, also violet and blueberry. Distinctly a Washington wine (based on others I’ve had) because of the licorice and blueberry. A much more complex and grownup version of the affordable fruit bombs blends people love to buy. I wish it were a little more robust, but it is pretty darn good. 89-90. A little fruity for me, but good value, Would prefer Chateau St Michelle for the $13 this cost me, but it is a nice alternative, especially if you want something heavier than that. — 4 years ago
This is a gorgeous wine even now(early)! Showing silky smoothness, smoke, cherry liqueur, cassis, black licorice, maple syrup, tar, milk chocolate and vanilla! I actually opened this last night but decided to wait!
This is my upcoming work weekend; wishing a Happy Fall weekend to everyone! — 6 years ago

Great for dessert, chocolate. Somewhat sweet. — 7 years ago
A treat. Dark in color, slightly cloudy. A powerful nose with dark, very mouton fruit. Incredibly aromatic, blackcurrant, mint, graphite, dried herbs, eucalyptus. The palate is extraordinary. So dense and powerful for a wine of almost 70 years. Dark fruit with a savory undertow- leather, thyme, sour cherry, dark chocolate. Really precise flavors and long. After an hour or two in glass there’s notes of coconut and soft wood. Extraordinary. Clearly there’s a lot of age on this but the sheer quality makes for a really dynamic wine. An exceptional bottle, and a teal treat. — 8 years ago
Always a winner :) — 9 years ago
Big Cab! Wonderful spice and some chocolate mix. — 10 years ago
Well, what can you say? It's kind of an unfair fight whenever Hillside is involved. Beautiful fruit, incredibly rich, lots of chocolate and integrated oak and tannins. I'm very happy I've been able to taste this wine multiple times. A Napa classic. — 11 years ago
Variety of aromas that include black fruits, olive, and tobacco. In the mouth this Chilean Cab is ripe, tannic, and fun. Flavors include raspberry, herbs from the kitchen, chocolate, and spiced. The finish is firm and long. This wine is enormously endowed. — 11 years ago
Deep, but undiscernable fruity characteristics on the nose.
Plummy, jammy notes and very drinkable. Full-bodied and spicy. Some dark chocolate notes, too.
Paired with wild grains, sauteéd greens, and baked salmon filets. — 5 years ago
Smooth and rich flavors of chocolate and a slight hint of tobacco. — 6 years ago
Black cherry and spice with a chocolate finish — 6 years ago
Pretty young Napa cab. Blackberry, espresso, chocolate, good acidity and chewy tannin. Maybe not quite a “value” cab at $100, but definitely delicious now with potential. — 7 years ago
2015 bottling. I don’t really drink stuff like this much anymore but this was very well made and delicious. — 8 years ago
Has a coffee aroma with a hint of chocolate. Delicious Pinotage. — 8 years ago

Great cedar and cassis nose with a matching palate. Persistent without being boring. Earthiness coming out after an hour to balance chocolate covered berries. — 10 years ago
Like drinking chocolate — 11 years ago
This is my go to red blend, that's very affordable! It's rich, velvety, with a chocolate undertone. A tad sweet, but very delicious! — 12 years ago
