A massive departure from the Tenuta della Terre Nere Rosso that we started the evening with. Loads of dark cherry, brambles, and spiced meat. The aromas were wild. I was also picking up some volatile acidity but it really helped give some lift the massive amount of fruit. On the palate, more dark fruits, spices and dried herbs. Lip smacking finish. It's so hard to get my head around Amarone with less than 10 years of bottle age, but the venue constrained my options. That said, this seems to be a more straightforward style of the revered Corvina blend. Nothing over-extracted, typical fruit notes of raisin, dried plum, maybe some cassis...in a warm brûlée with baked spice, graphite, and toasty oak and vanilla. The weight is moderate and the mouthfeel elegant. The only missing element versus the great cuvées is a bit of complexity/depth. Indeed, this is more like the best Valpolicella Ripassos I've had, with a touch more phenolic extraction. Call it a super-Valpo. — 8 years ago

This wine is absolutely delicious. Killer value for sparkling wine, this could keep up with some solid grower champagnes! This is a 2010 vintage of 80 Pinot & 20 Chardonnay disgorged in 2015! Dig it, and the Rose is smoking too.

2010 - Organic grapes from 30 yrs. old vines. Nice red color, forget darkness here. Great fruitiness at this very young stage and complex body, long finish. Particularly elegant and drinkable, it comes from Marano valley! Excellent. And the price is... €13 at the winery! — 11 years ago
