CC Gran Selezione. Needs a full day’s aeration to move from high-toned to full-on freight train of raspberry, sage, summer savory and saddle shop. Tremendous grip and length; superfine tannins. Superior. #poggioalsole #casasilia #chianticlassico #granselezione — 7 years ago

Light (13%), bright, tart cranberry summer wine from Sicily. Best when chilled like a rosé. Organic. Having it with lemon sole and tomato-orange sauce. — 9 years ago
100% Sangiovese from Poggio al Sole and Arcidossino areas are hand-picked, selected, destemmed and pressed with long maceration followed by aging in French oak. Dark slightly hazy ruby color; amazingly large and elegant nose of red and black fruits, green notes, herbs and spices; atypical Tuscan on the palate as the tannins were smooth and elegant, perfectly integrated oak, delicious acids and fruits and a long finish with fruit, liquorice and vanilla. — 9 years ago

Memorable wine and reunion. Barolo 1971. With Sergi, after 24 years, Sergi's wife Inoah and Ferruccio. Had it with ravioli al plin with ragout, antipasto piemontese di verdure, wild boar salami and tuma di murazzano. Memorable. — 8 years ago
Drinking with friends, Ilse & Al in Cinque Terre region of Italy. Yummy! Eating prosciutto and pecorino cheese, apple and bread! — 9 years ago
I don't know a lot about wine but this was recommended to me by someone who clearly does. This wine went very well with filet mignon. It is a delight to the palate and has a nice combination of sweet and dry. The sweetness complimented the steak well. Overall this was a great wine for me! — 9 years ago
