For Zinfandel week, Bianchi took the cake. Berry mouth with a faint horseradish finish. Excellent pick! Would go best if drank whilst riding a tandem bicycle. Matthew agrees. — 8 years ago
Really great, acidic European red. — 9 years ago
If I had to fight some toro's I would make sure to get properly mental on this wine for some courage. The notes of cherry, chocolate, and berries are perfectly balanced with acidity and tannin that complements each other in perfect tandem, dancing like the bull and the bull fighter. At 14.5% Look no further than this ganache! — 9 years ago

Great chardonnay at the fall Tandem Gathering! — 10 years ago
Barnyard on the nose. Palate reveals acid and berry sour in tandem with minimally present tannin. — 7 years ago
In these heady days of globalised en primeur releases, in tandem price appreciation and quality amelioration, the budget-minded wine buyer must consistently seek out the unfashionable. Chianti, still lodged in many minds as a source of romantic and cheap straw-covered fiascos--contents rarely as memorable as their packaging--is an undervalued source of fine wine. This Riserva is Exhibit A. Around $23.00, and just buzzing with intelligence, tradition, and provenance. Cellarable, too. Classic Sangiovese nose of dusty dark fruit. Great structure, acid, tannins, long finish. Beautiful work. — 8 years ago

Having in background 2 great reds by Raevskoe, my expectations were high. And I'm glad to notice those come true.
Bright, crisp, delicate Viognier is of pale straw colour with subtle yet lovely complex nose. Flavors of pear, pomelo, peach, jasmine, acacia, sage, sea breeze, pineapple, passionfruit enveloping your imagination tenderly.
On palate it switch to pear lemonade, white currant, yellow plum, lime, ripe apple hints.
White currant and lime define finish, accompanied by tandem of acidity and minerality.
Crustaceans, oysters and light desserts are perfect to enjoy Viognier at maximum extent! — 9 years ago

The 2007 Zippy's Block Shiraz is a sound effort indeed and displays the characteristics of a premium Barossa Valley red. Two Hands Wines have created a single vineyard series, of which Zippy's Block Shiraz is a major player, and this particular vintage, although tough, still resulted in a top notch wine.
EXPERT REVIEWS
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - 93 pts - The 2007 Shiraz Zippy's Block from Roennfeldt Road in the Marananga sub region of Barossa Valley, is a brooding, burly wine with a splendid nose of plum, tar, licorice, smoke, game, and blueberry. On the palate it is surprisingly restrained, bordering on elegant. Savory, ripe, and medium-long, it will be approachable in 1-2 years and drink well for a decade thereafter. - Dec 2009
James Halliday's Wine Companion - 92 pts - More life here, with some red fruit providing lift to the concentrated fruitcake and chocolate beneath; the oak and fruit work in tandem and provide a rich, but not overwhelming level of interest on the finish; chewy with some nerve to conclude. Date tasted 26 Feb 2009, drink by 2020.
Wine Spectator - 91 pts - This spicy red is distinctive for its star anise and cigar box overtones around a plump, chewy core of blackberry, plum and dried blueberry flavors, persisting through a solid frame of fine tannins. Best from 2011 through 2019. 750 cases made. -HS, Oct 2009 — 9 years ago

How do I even begin to comment on the privilege of lapping up the last drops of a life's work? Puffeney's 52nd vintage, his final potion. The wine that made me aware of the Jura, that first sparked sensation of time and place, a wine that exists equally in bottle as it does in brain. When you find yourself paused mid-step on the walk home, paralyzed by the distant sound of a youthful pianist stretching their hands across blessed white and black keys. Recognizing the tension that folds over their shoulders in tandem with the all encompassing lightness of body that accompanies practice. There is something so real about the way they are playing, without too much fluidity, they stop and start again and somehow that's better than an unstopping song. There is no performance here. What is it about the walls, windows and air between you that deliver these wafts of sound in such a pleasurable way? How does the space aid the aesthetic? You keep standing there, basking in this auditory coat, and for a sliver of time you want nothing. You want no one. You have everything. This pianist will never meet you, nor you them, yet there is partnership, a unity, an offer and reception. An electrical circuit you have both worked to complete. You want to cling tightly to this moment and you find yourself searching for evidence to make you present. The sky was blue, the pavement was wet, I was just about there, I was happy. But all of this is already phrased in the past tense, the moment has already slid away from you. You pick up your forgotten step and continue forward, dizzy from experience, left with only a stamp in your mind that you can picture but never fully revisit. Little death. — 7 years ago
Dooryard batch number 1502. Lighter in flavor intensity than other current/new ciders a la Tandem, but not a bad thing; refreshing. Not overly appley, only comes through at the start & finish in an essence. A little buttery. — 8 years ago

Lovely tandem by Muscat of Alexandria and Gewürtztraminer grapes.
Outstanding floral sweet nose, nice amber / emerald colour, silky delicious palate of Muscat.
Best served chilled down to 11oC. Perfect match to melon, avocado, cheeses and light ham.
Exceptionally delicate and fragrant. Absolute must-have for every wine lover's cellar — 9 years ago

60% Grolleau/ 40% Cab Franc. Serious reduction on the nose which blows off to find springtime, flowery aromatics. The palate seems simple at first with some fresh red fruit & a light to medium body. As it opens it shows some smoky notes & a hint of pepper. Easy to approach & easier to drink. — 5 years ago
