One of the most impressive 1999 Bordeaux wines. Beautiful dark ruby color, nose was expressive from the get-go with cassis, blackberry, cigar box, leather, tobacco, and violets. Impressed with this wine's impeccable balance. Solid and silky smooth on the mid palate, impressive length in the finish. The tannins need a bit of taming, but they're not intrusive at all. Well-balanced acidity. — 10 years ago
What a nice surprise this wine turned into. I Bought it only because it was marked down to under $7 and if it was bad I was going to use it for cooking. Full bodied, with blackberry, plum, black pepper and this meaty, dry, smooth finish. Needless to say I bought a couple more bottles. — 11 years ago

Light, crisp with a subtle vanilla finish. Really enjoyable. Had this in Bure River Cottage Restaurant in Horning, Norfolk with tiger prawns and monkfish with salsa verdi. Lovely evening and delicious food & wine. — 11 years ago
Elegant, soft tannins, beautiful blackberry jam nose — 11 years ago
Now this was very impressive coming from a great vintage. Candied orange peel and dried rose pedals. Tight as a tiger and such a long lasting finish! Opened up tremendously over the course of the night. A bit of tar and cranberry at the beginning and just softened into a work of art. — 11 years ago
Great $20 drop here, real funky and different dry white. Bruised apple,!beeswax, petrol cheese rind and tiger lilly on nose, palate is unctuous and spicy, woth honey accents and high acid resembling riesling with age. Full body and full flavored, and very well balanced. Great! 2010 vintage. — 11 years ago

Derived from volcanic soil, this has zestiness, spice, vibrancy for days. Great with antipasti, especially raw fish. 70% gritty, funky, expressive Cabernet Franc and 30% round, inky Canaiolo. Some nice gamey, funky characteristics, tiger lilies, with good deep tobacco. Great pairing with salty, hard cheeses like pecorino. — 10 years ago
Probably the best Cab Franc I've had. — 11 years ago
Amazing GSM from one of the oldest labels in CA. Balanced and big--you're gonna want a 2nd bottle. — 11 years ago
$45.60 from Metrovino. Excellent with lamb. Try with pork tenderloin stuffed with sundried smoked olives, capers & tiger blue cheese (from Poplar Grove) — 11 years ago
With so few Napa Wines hitting the mark so surely, this folks is a TEXT BOOK example of how it's done right. Tasting this wine is a pure pleasure, it reminds me of a left bank Bordeaux. Lean where it should be, vivid acid taming abundant fruit and wonderfully stunning minerality. The structure of this wine could easily go another 10 years. Plums, cocoa dust, blackberries, cedar and dried underbrush. You can spend more, but you honestly won't get more! #winelover #wine — 11 years ago

Like a pleasant musty attic. Earthiness and dark fruits blend with chocolate, espresso, and cedar. Gripping finish of graphite; overall it's still taming itself in the bottle but there's great flavor potential. — 9 years ago
