2006 vintage. Medium ruby hue. Nose is off the charts - slight metallic, dark plum, roses and violets, sultana, coffee lift, licorice. With air, fennel and tangerine. On the palate, wow. Huge acidity, medium body, high tannin - softened with time in glass. Medium plus alcohol. Great length and complexity. Drink now until 2027. — 8 years ago

The 2000 Quinta do Noval Porto Colheita Tawny is superb, showing warm and welcoming notes of caramel, dried fruit, honey, sultana along with a pinch of toast. The mind immediately jumps to pairings like stilton, Roquefort, or dried fruit, though, surprisingly the staff at Noval recommend trying it with fresh carrot, unpeeled. I love the this Port's vibrancy and balance, the palate bright, like a newly minted penny, its brimming over with walnut shells, figs, golden raisins, and spice cake. Just lovely. 20.5% ABV | Sample — 9 years ago
At aprox. 22 usd/17 gbp, this wine is a real garbain.
Mature, intense and concentrated with a great complexity ranging from honey, dates, treacle, glue, sultana raisins, nut meg and vanilla.
The alcohol is there, but mellowed with time, acts as a lift for the aromas rather than being a burden.
With a vivid acidity, it is a real show of elegance and power that does wonders in food pairing!

Riper than any other heredia I've had. Stewed plum, tea, black cherry, beautifully long finish of raspberry, cranberry and some game. Must have been warm cause there's like some sultana and almost some heat — 7 years ago
Dried apricot and sultana notes — 8 years ago
Almost like a completely different wine. I had to double check the vintage to make sure I was drinking the same wine as I did a few months ago. A ripe cordial like concentration still that had it reminding me of its port-like character, especially in texture. The dried fig, sultana and sticky date element is still there but wrapped in an abundance of fresh raspberry and black cherries. The finish is pretty insane on this, certainly the type of wine you have to be in the mood for — 9 years ago
