Had it on 8/7/16 at Studio @ The Montage with the Provost's celebrating Jake's bday. It was BYOB. Had kept bottle home for years based on Sherry Lehman reco only to end up staying at Franc Mayne during recent trip to Saint-Emilion. Old juice, just as Tere loves them. — 9 years ago
A Napa Cabernet Franc tasting with the family today. The Detert and the Larkin were the favorites of the group; both had gorgeous black cherry and blueberry fruit with terrific aromatic intensity. The Gandona Meia and the Studio Seven-Fifty need more time. The Turnbull was slightly corked. — 8 years ago

What a treat - tonight we had an intimate blind wine tasting with friends that was conducted by Laura Maniec, Master Sommelier and Founder/CEO of Corkbuzz Studio in NYC. At the time she received her MS she was the youngest woman to receive one. ❤️❤️❤️ her and LOVED this wine. It was killer. Dried fruits typical of amarone, soft tannins, and high alcohol. Jammy, fruit compote and light colored like a Pinot. Big, bold deliciousness. — 8 years ago

Welcome to Terpene Town. Forcefully resinous compounds in massive waves; aromatics and flavors that remind me of my grandmother’s oil painting studio, which happened to double as an indoor botanical garden but was nowhere close to Italy. Perhaps some Adriatic oceanity is expressing itself here in a mysterious form, but that seems like a far stretch so I’ll simply call it Purple Flowers and Turpentine. Curiously intense and oddly nostalgic. This Riserva spent 3 years in barrel but has managed to keep the Oak Monster suppressed in favor of much more unique and quirky nuances. — 7 years ago
