Perfect for a torrential snow storm! — 11 years ago
First impression of the 2012 Grgich Hills Chardonnay—it's old-school and intense. Classic orchard fruit aromas are couched in flint and matchstick that hover like an electric storm over rather more tender notes of toasted walnut, brioche, and acacia honey. In the mouth, there's not an ounce of fat, it's lean with considerable energy and verve. There is smoothness, sure—but it's cleanly cut by lemon zest and white grapefruit pith, with minerally, toast notes emerging on the finish. 13.5% ABV | Sample — 9 years ago
Very delicious! Strikingly similar to a 10 year old burgundy. Slightly waxy, but packed with raspberry fruit and acid! — 10 years ago
Balanced if I can say that for a late harvest dessert wine... (It was). The acid supported it's dance between alcohol and sugar. Beautiful nose. Sweet citrus and floral. What I call a 'honeymoon' wine. Perfect, goes quick. — 10 years ago

Not much I can say except "Wow!" Like Sweet Tarts? This is a Riesling for you. — 10 years ago

Pretty fruit, nice body, balance in tune, and a pleasure to drink alongside roast chicken and spuds. Looking forward to trying the Moya. — 9 years ago
