Just pulling the cork was enough to get a waft of green and red peppers. This is sizzlingly fajitas (without the meat) on cast iron. Add in raspberry, cherry tomato, wet gravel, and a light dusting of bitter cocoa. Shows great balance and doesn't overdo the acid. Steps right up to the line of being flabby, but doesn't cross it. It's as big as it can be. — 9 years ago
Well well well......I am not a typical Rutherford Cab kind of guy - but I have to say I likey. Delicious fruit on the front and keeps it well rounded and plump. The bouquet is just a hint....like that attractive person steps on the elevator and smells good but you can't put your finger on the smell. Finish makes you want more and more - pairs well with my mom's lasagna. I like this wine - didn't think I would....... — 10 years ago
Berries and a hint of barnyard on the nose, along with hints of kirsch and dried flowers. Modest raspberry fruit on the palate with a big, aggressive whack of wood that becomes bitter and slightly metallic on the finish. Medium-minus body, medium-minus acidity. Long finish dominated by bitter wood notes. A few steps away from greatness. — 10 years ago

Breathtaking in its beauty, nestled in the shadows of biblical Mount Ararat, 1400 meters above sea level, and only steps away from the most ancient of sites (a 6100 year old winery), the vineyards of Zorah are set in the quintessential wine producing region of Armenia, in Yeghegnadzor. A fantastic journey which began in Tuscany, Italy, and led ultimately to the ancestral homeland of its creators. Zorah Karasi 2011 — 12 years ago
Delectable do not appear to recognise this cuvée which is a Pinot Noir from the Primavera vineyard. Has been used in blends previously but in 2015 the fruit was good enough to warrant an Individual Vineyard cuvée. 100% whole bunch the nose has this spicy stinging nettle herbal slightly peppery character. Spicy cherry vibrant fruit comes thru on the palate with oak taking a back seat. An intriguing Pinot Noir. — 9 years ago

Love this innocent bystander Shiraz.. Easy to drink... An all time favourite — 10 years ago
Kevin steps it up with his wild ferment. Absolutely delicious! Steely mineral nose with asparagus and lemongrass. The mouthfeel is precisely textured with grapefruit, yellow apple, and lemon rind. The long finish is pleasantly chalky with fine acidity. — 11 years ago
Consistently one of my favorite wines. Sadly, it was my last bottle. — 12 years ago

Nose of peppercorns savoury spices and minerals Medium weight with plummy minerality coming through on the palate. Hawkes Bay NZ Syrah has always been a favourite of mine starting with Te Mata's Bull Nose Syrah 10 years ago. This Salo is made by leading Aussie winemaker Steve Flamsteed of Giant Steps in the Yarra Valley Tasted again 36 weeks later. Lacked a little mid palate fruit when compared to the Mt Langhi Cliff Edge which was a similar cool climate peppery Shiraz. I preferred the Langhi. — 8 years ago
