Wow! Big, rich, some petrol, lots of fruit, glycerin with a long finish. Impressive! — 7 years ago
How to really stump someone in a blind tasting: 1) store a bottle of '69 Weis Leiwener Laurentiuslay Auslese in a box with lots of geuze for ages. 2) allow the wild yeast to enter the bottle and do its thing. 3) wait until you loose 1/4 of the wine through the cork as the pressure builds. 4) open under the table, with a serious 'pop' (to confuse the tasters). 5) serve this miraculously delicious sour 'petillant' (like a cross between a Belgian sour and a very good feinherbst) in riesling glasses. 6) bathe in the glorious confusion that ensues. — 7 years ago
Sublime. Grapefruit, mango, lime, all carried by an underlying stony weight. Such perfect weight with roundness and acidity. This like a Carly Rae track- underrated but bouncy and full of vivacity. — 8 years ago
Perfect Mosel Kabbinet. Fruit, minerality, freshness. So much pleasure from this bottle! Generous and giving! — 9 years ago

My wife and I enjoyed this sparkling Blanc de Blanc/Noir with two close friends (Tom and Renee Stevenson) on our deck looking out on the water near St. Michaels, MD. The wine exploded into a creamy flood of aromatic bubbles with every sip, and proved the perfect foil for the dazzling array of both creamy and firm cheeses that our friends, both French Champagne lovers, knew would complement it. Gloria Ferrer is always a favorite stop when we visit the Napa/Sonoma area, both for the quality and diversity of their wine offerings, and the warm friendliness of the greeting that they always provide on their gorgeous elevated patio! — 7 years ago
Quite fragrant of stone fruit. The taste however started with quite a bit of seeetness than followed with an intense l min flavor mixed with peaches ... peachy lemons is the best way I can describe it. A little too sweet for my taste, but quite a surprising mix of flavors that I found it quite enjoyable.

Fried bee hoon war. Same vineyard as torbreck the laird. Very good. Dark fruit, heavy, brooding, anise, vanila, liquorice, sweet, chinese soy sauce, hint of chinese tea leave, velvety, chocolate and multilayer complexity. Can go for few more years — 7 years ago
