Cedar, malt milo, raspberry, yoyo biscuit and fresh Blackcurrant have been the aromas showing tonight. I do know this wine can show beautiful leather, stalky notes and earthy aromas but it simply did not last long enough. Precise fruit, tannin targets the front palate but acid plays a backing role. The inky ruby/purple '03 Clarendon Hills Syrah 'Hickinbotham' throws a toxic mix of dark berries, charcoal, candied licorice and raw steak at the nostrils. The garnet/purple '12 Shingleback Shiraz 'Red Knot' offers a rich nose of black cherry, plum and earth aromas with secondary hints of spice, tar, licorice and dark cocoa.
