The Martín Códax Winery was founded in 1986 by a group of winegrowers in Cambados, the capital of the Salnés Valle. All grapes are sourced from their own vineyards. Nice light straw yellow color with aromas of white flesh fruit and floral scents. On the palate apple, peach, pear and lemon zest, some light spice with vivid acidity. The finish displays the minerality on a lingering ending. Crisp and fresh. Very nice! Tasting Sample. — 9 years ago
Vintage 2014 - more botytris than Premier Cru Chaume, honey in a superlative degree. Since Quarts de Chaume is recognized and rewarded as Grand Cru pricelevels have been raised to levels that are more in proportion to the hard work of the winegrowers. A pity for the wineloving customers. A gem in the cellar, this wine must stay there for at least 10 years to show it's full potential. — 9 years ago
A perfectly balanced red blend — 12 years ago
Born in the Nievre, where Burgundy meets the Loire Valley, Didier was the fourth generation in a family of winegrowers. Pale straw with white stone fruit aromas and floral notes. On the palate ripe peach and pear flavors fuse with chalky wet stone and citrus zest, energetic acidity. Long finish ending with mineral tones and underlying creaminess. Tasting Sample. — 8 years ago
Vintage 2013 - this domaine is situated on a beautiful spot on a hill where you can look far for 30 kilometers nearby Beaulieu sur Layon. This vintage was not so easy, but the winegrowers delivered a fantastic performance. It's not sweet only, but also has nice acidity that makes it a very interesting bottle. Peaches. Buttery. — 9 years ago
Cheesy, clean, good stuff — 10 years ago
2011 "Ramato" (copper) is the original color of Pinot Grigio grapes, but very few winegrowers interpret this characteristic. It's one of some wine mysteries. From Valle di Cembra, Trentino. Very good. — 11 years ago

SMOOTH. This wine is classic Oakville and I guess it should be given that it has a lot of stellar wines included in the Cuvee. This wine has been open for two hours, and needs to really open for another 2-3 hours before I think it will be firing right like it should. After de-waxing and popping the cork, this wine was showing a lot of heated black notes. A little disjointed, but really started to sing after an hour. The blackberry and licorice, black pepper and tobacco notes are very ample. Smooth transition to the middle and finish. Finishes just so damn smooth. Softened tannin, more fruit to the finish actually and just seems like a toastier note on the finish. This wine was incredible. — 7 years ago
