Classic with very well integrated wood. A solid effort exhibiting nice secondary aromas but with a good life span still ahead of it. Nice one. — 6 years ago

A solid Rioja. Well rounded. — 6 years ago
Wonderful blend. Good nose and smooth on the palate. Paired well with crab in black bean sauce. — 7 years ago
Solid, juicy Langhe Nebbiolo from a classic Barolo producer. Nose of slightly dried red cherry, rose petal and lavender, fennel, orange peel, and a bit of volatile asphalt-y character. The nose echoes the palate pretty congruently in terms of flavor, with some eucalyptus freshness and a bit of extra mineral intensity. High acid, nimble, medium (-) body, and medium (+) tannic intensity. Tannins are surprisingly softly textured despite their intensity. I want this with a blue cheese and jalapeño-topped burger. — 8 years ago
Birth year vintages are a roll of the dice but luckily I landed on a pretty solid classic - 1978. So for my birthday this year, we opened an LLC and wow was this perfect. The sommelier was surgical in removing the cork which split in half but he managed to extract it. The nose on this wine was a 10 - loads of cassis, licorice, dusty library and leather. Palate was extracted cassis, leather and great acidity and liveliness, just like my 44 year old self. It’s just pure magic when bottles this old perform - happy Friday everyone. — 3 years ago
Strong dark cherry. I think solid body but wife thinks light. Some alcohol heat at the finish. Great value for price. — 6 years ago
Very very delicious, solid red. — 7 years ago
Leathery on the nose. Well balanced, solid finish — 7 years ago
Father in law casually opens this up in on a Sunday. What is he sick in the head?! Solid wine... still a baby. Give it time to mature and it'll rock your socks. So much is going on here: floral on the nose, and dark ripe berries on the palate. I can still taste it 15 mins later... — 8 years ago
Had several bottles over last 9 mos, aging well! Deep ruby color and aromas of dark fruit, berries, mint and cedar, with a slight earthy scent. The wine is a blend of 86% Cab Sauv, 9% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot & 1% Cabernet Franc and aged for 20 months in 30% new French oak. On the palate flavors of blackberry, cherry & sweet plum with oak and cacao. This full bodied wine finished with notes of tobacco and earthy notes, oak, well balanced with solid tannin structure. Delightful! Great value. — 5 years ago
Classic CA cab. Not very complex but great fruit, very well structured, Solid 89. — 6 years ago
Bordeaux style Napa Cabernet, great nose, mushroom, truffle, baking spices, very drying tannins and some sourness even after an hour or two. Stored overnight and tried again and totally different wine, smooth, fruity with depth and a great finish. This is really solid and a nice surprise. — 7 years ago
Ripe fruit gives way to baking spices baking spices baking spices. Jammy but not overly so. This is a unique little number, very interesting and agreeable — 8 years ago

Not quite as mature as the 2012. The 14 was solid and nice but the aromatics were lacking. Needed more time. — 3 years ago
