A terrific offering from Matt Trevisan, the 2010 Problem Child is a blend of zinfandel (77%), syrah (16%), and mourvedre (7%) and is an example of what non-traditional blends can achieve in Paso Robles. Contrary to conventional thinking about zins, the addition of syrah and mourvedre make this wine improve with some age. Intense dark berry notes on the nose, this wine has complexity that is hard to get from zin on its own. One of the better incarnations of this wine that I've had, this is terrific. One bit of advice: serve it a couple of degrees below cellar temp to bring it in to balance. — 11 years ago

Great aromatics with jammy fruit, strawberry compote, boysenberry and baking spice on the nose. Similarly on the palate, plenty of jammy fruit, candied strawberry, nutmeg and cinnamon, with very little tannin and a great lingering finish. Very easy to drink. — 11 years ago
