Deep ruby color. I opened this up last night and let it decant for a few hours. Yesterday I had a lot of cumin, sulfur smoke and dark berries. Today it had softened to baking spices, warm berries, cassis and a gorgeous toasted oak finish. Superb! — 3 years ago

A heavy charcuterie silver platter is served with baked honey ham, cured Spanish jamon, blood red chorizo, and smoked maple bacon. Hints of cinnamon, sweet paprika, basil leaf, gunpowder pepper, and cloves simmer on moist tobacco coloring zesty notes of ruby grapefruit, mandarin orange peel, soft kiwi hair, and peach fuzzed suede ~ buttered leather and flint coos as baby's breath on your nose.
Sandalwood and cedar patina the long legs of this elegant Blue Crane of a wine as it slowly grazes the river waters of the Indian Ocean. Nursed and balanced by the terroir of South African trade winds this purple warrior has flawless camouflage. Formal enough to serve the Master of War yet humble enough to grace the tongue of seraphim. Definitely a TRB wine - tonnes of fruit packed into a little bottle, but not showing a fruitbomb ripeness. Incredibly intense and concentrated - to be expected of that favored Calistoga fruit of his, reminding me a bit of Wallis Family Seraphim smacking you in the teeth with gritty tannin. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, with fresh aromas of blackberry and black plum, a bit of crushed rock, and bell pepper. The pallet is gritty and tight, exhibiting flavors of red apple skin, black currant, mocha, and an extreme grip to the finish. This wine either needs SEVERAL hours open to breath, or it needs 2 or 3 more years to relax before opening again.. excellent wine, but young. — 7 years ago
