Can’t believe it’s been almost 20 years since I bought these. Obviously lighter than it was, but has come back from a spell where they weren’t more than vinegar. Just happy it’s drinkable, and curious what the current vintages are like — 7 years ago

Has that petrol you would expect out of an aged riesling. This plus some fruity Granny Smith apples! — 10 years ago
Exceptional year in upstate New York! Wagner only makes their Meritage blend from the best of the best years! A cooler climate red blend with great balance between darker fruit flavors, tannins and oak. — 12 years ago

Ticks all the boxes of a great wine. Surprised the region has such a well balanced wine. — 8 years ago
Tastes like a chocolate covered grape! — 9 years ago
Excellent and complex. Minerality and many different fruit overtones. Decently dry for Riesling. — 9 years ago

Almost clear in color with the slightest golden hue. Medium nose with subtle hints of grapefruit and vodka. Very thick on the palate, but a classic Dry Riesling throughout. Rather short finish, but very nice. — 8 years ago
When you hike in the Finger Lakes, you can easily think you're in Burgundy or Alsace. The topography is very close and the climate is just a little more continental. So the choice of grape varieties follows naturally. Pear, apple, and a little pineapple fruit come across in this wine. It has some stony and steely minerality, but less than typical for this region. There's a lot of vanilla and butter, with smoke and oak. These latter elements are too strong in my opinion. And the acidity is a little too weak. If that and the fruit were stronger this would be on par with Chablis. So it's a little off balance. But I enjoyed it very much with a salmon salad. — 9 years ago
My first love when it comes to Finger Lakes Reds. Not a great vintage for Reds, but the shorter growing season for pinot snuck this one in under the radar. Lots of cherries and a hint of maybe olives? It has some lively acidity that makes it dance on your tongue. It's got the red strength without being overpowering. Beautiful with seafood. — 10 years ago
Second drinking I ended up liking this even more. — 11 years ago
