Oh yeah. This is my jam. Just gorgeous wine. Viogner really lift the aromatics into another level. Spice, pepper, cherry briar patch, subtle perfume, a meadow of wildflowers. As it opens a creamy silky core of ripe red fruit and lush tannins seduce the mouth like a femme fatale. The prickly acids give it a balanced backbone. Delicious long finish with acid burst. Beautiful pale gold in the glass with thin edges. Pineapples, pears, honey crisp apples, and vanilla on the nose. The aromas don’t try to overpower you with, instead they subtly seduce you. Plush mouthfeel and incredible balance. This is not a stereotypical buttery Chard, nor is it overoaked. There’s oak to be had here but just about the right amount. On the palate, the citrus qualities come to life more but not in an overbearing manner. Lemon, more pears, and melon on the forefront with butterscotch and apple pie on the backend. A little unexpected spice note on the finish takes this baby home. Classic but not austere, a bit of elegance without the pomp. Very nice stuff. — 8 years ago
