Great Bordeaux. Very smooth second growth. This was the 2014 vintage. — 6 years ago

Blackberries and cherries... lots of fruit up front... Nuge and light, great with food. — 8 years ago
WOTN vs a blockbuster line-up at Cafe Baloud in West Palm Beach on 4/28. Loads of power and concentration but it's a standout for it's plush balance, sexy freshness and astounding vibrancy. This is a 27 year old wine but the fruit is still a centerpiece of this wine and it makes you take notice. Elegant tannic structure with warming fig, expresso and cassis flavors that fill your mouth with hedonistic pleasure. The second '90 Latour @Martin G Rivard pulled out that weekend. — 9 years ago

Pink orange color with appealing red fruit, and rose petal aromas. On the palate, it's medium bodied with a wonderful mouthwatering acidity and a nice grip courtesy of the Nebbiolo with tart strawberry and cherry flavors and a lingering finish. — 10 years ago
The second wine of Pichon LaLande and it was showing quite well. Classic Bordeaux nose with Cabernet filling the glass. Very good vintage and this wine is quite young . It matched up with the many dishes at the table. Years of life left.👀🍷🍷 — 6 years ago
Closed down, bracing acidity and tough as nails straight out the bottle.
After being open for 24 hours this is a different and slightly more welcoming wine showing better true varietal character.
Despite the slender body (12.8% ABV) I wouldn’t be surprised if this really will be singing in 3+ years.
90+ pts in my book today (after aeration). — 6 years ago
Hitting its stride since LBT. Unwound and has fleshed out just a touch. Cracked pepper, hung meat, woodsmoke, bay leaf, wild berries, crushed cherry. Mineral laden throughout the palate. Fresh and just fun to drink with its very agreeable ABV. I love these wines upon release for how high-toned they are, but some recent bottles at the 5 year mark have really got me interested in how harmonious they get with a little bottle age. — 7 years ago
A savory juicy textured herbal food pairing champ. Like cooking sous-vide with an immersion circulator, what was once a geeky oddity has found a permanent home on our table. Not a universal solution, but really the right tool for the job in certain situations. Like pan seared halibut with fennel or spring vegetable risotto. — 8 years ago
Pichon-Lalande is the single hottest property in the Médoc right now. Although the Chateau has a long and esteemed history, a Second Growth in the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855, no less, it is the winemaking today that is taking the property to new heights. If you are looking to treat yourself with a wine that is truly world class in every sense, then look no further. The wonderfully nuanced, finessed 2014 Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande exudes pedigree. Crème de cassis, licorice, lavender and sweet spices are front and center, while beams of supporting tannins and acidity give the wine its energy and overall tension. All of the elements are simply in the right place. Powerful and also remarkably delicate, the 2014 Pichon Comtesse might very well be the wine of the vintage on the Left Bank. Don't miss it! Really gorgeous wine. Apple pie. — 6 years ago
Late to post this from Friday night dinner at Gemma (Dallas spot with nice wine list). Surprised to find this one on the list and just had to order. Fortunately they decanted for us, but it was still a little cooler temp than my liking. Overall this is always a pleaser. Still can’t believe this is a second wine for PT. Silky smooth tannins. Approachable now, but will become even more elegant with time in the bottle. Can’t beat this QPR. Napa cab that holds true to Bordeaux style. (Drank 1/3/20) (not my photo) — 6 years ago
That’s some nice drinkin’ stuff (circa 2017). Thanks to the local somm, Steve, at our Whole Foods for the recom... it was their last bottle and he sacrificed. — 7 years ago

Nice wine. Drank it on the second day. Still had a lot of character to it. — 8 years ago
High expectations not met, decent domestic syrah. — 9 years ago
I initially had this rated lower trying to handicap it for being a 2013, served blind this would be hard to pick out as a second wine. Did Claud mix up the barrels? That's a joke by the way. Firing on all cylinders, restrained fruit, rich tannins and an acid balance, delivers from the bouquet on the nose to the finish. — 10 years ago
Vibrant. High toned fruit. Some earth and meatiness. One would think this is north Rhone all the way. Very pure. — 12 years ago
