Not many beers brewed like this anymore. Literally pine trees in a forest with a hint of maple syrup. I get some citrus and raw ginger, but then that sweetness cutting through followed by bitters. The bitterness is so huge but balanced. This is a beer to experience rather than slug. — 5 years ago
Toasted bread, brown bread crust, grape candy, and a leafy, herbal hop character.
Lots of toasty, bready notes with cherry/grape Jolly Rancher and an underlying metallic mineral note from the lager yeast.
Great project for SN pairing up with a different German brewer each year to come up with this. Nice to have a fresh example of this style. — 6 years ago

Very nice complex, dark red. Great with Vietnamese (offsets the spice really well). Highly recommend... — 7 years ago
Great full bodied and tannic RDD. Nose of tobacco, vanilla, and oak. Tastes young, powerful, and fresh on the palate despite being in the bottle for 7 years. Pretty much a perfect marriage between Bordeaux and Rioja. Black tea, slightly smoky on the finish. — 8 years ago

Buen Rioja. Frutos negros. Vainilla. Muy agradable — 4 years ago
The Syrah definitely shows up. Adds some weight and a little olive tapenade. seemed to have a little new oak. — 4 years ago

This Rioja blend needs to be open a long time before consuming. Once it settles down, it is a great wine. So complex and rich. Definite fruity Grenache notes mix with deep Tempranillo. A great wine. — 3 years ago
