As of now my favorite! — 5 years ago
Dark purple plum skin color from center to the rim’s edge where some scarlet also appears. Opaque. Great fruit forward nose that grabs your attention. Notes of blackberries, ripe plums, violets, tobacco, forest floor and some crushed walnuts. Rich and silky in the mouth. Great balance and texture. Tannins perfectly integrated. Long finish. If a Cal Cab can be seductive, this is it. Still youthful but in a great zone tonight. — 6 years ago
A treat, paired with Colorado beef tenderloin, wilted chard, mushrooms, and parsnip purée. Big, brash tannins that stood up to the charred edges of the steak. A lot of dark fruit with a touch of (good) funk. Off the beaten path for sure...need to go find some more — 6 years ago
Dark scarlet color showing a little age. Aromatic, animalistic nose with notes of black cherry, blueberries, a little menthol and some cold slate stone. Rich in the mouth with nicely integrated tannins. Ok finish. The funk in the nose is the memorable takeaway. — 7 years ago

Excellent Pinot to open and finish in one sitting. — 10 years ago
Dark scarlet center with clear rims. Almost opaque. Wonderful fragrant nose. Notes of blue fruit, earth, violets, minerals, and some menthol. Meaty. Velvet glove in the mouth. Soft rich fruit with a nice balance of acidity that prolongs the finish. Was open for business immediately. RIP Mr Clape and thank you for this. — 6 years ago

One of my go to Jammy Zins. For the price point a great wine. — 8 years ago

A bit spicy, not too heavy — 9 years ago
Thick sweet with a surprising pepper immediate burst. Had it with sea salt chocolate. — 10 years ago
Deep scarlet in color because of the extra amount of Pinot Noir with plenty of tiny bubbles. A wild nose of black and red berries mixed with blood orange, cinnamon, and herbs de Provence. This is an intense champagne and it doesn’t skimp on complexity either. Drinking more like a red wine at times, there’s an almost rusticity at first but soon evolves into a more structured and elegant pour. The brioche and roasted nuts are still here on the mid palate, along with warm Eastern spices. Creamy on the palate with blackberries, strawberries, and herbs. This was such a fun unconventional sparkler. — 4 years ago
Dark scarlet to the rims, almost opaque. Masculine, meaty nose. Notes of smoked meats, tart raspberries, herbs, wet soil, blueberries and some white pepper. Big and rich in the mouth. Youthful and plummy. Has some heat. Tannins mostly resolved. Puckering acidity and structure kinda overwhelms the fruit. — 6 years ago
Super good. Nice cherry notes — 6 years ago
Absolutely gorgeous. Bottle was pristine with such vitality. Dark scarlet with the slightest bit of bricking. Amazing amount of fruit left, earth, leather, some funk, all in harmony. Just awesome. — 6 years ago
2014 Puissant et rond 2 bouteilles pour $30 à bevmo — 7 years ago
Scarlet violet glass with scarlet violet translucent rim. Pretty, light nose of cedar, earth, vanilla, blackberry, cherry, raspberry, and hints of tobacco. Light body brings mild acidic tartness of cherry, strawberry and raspberry. Finishes short to medium due to tiny tannins with an ending cedar/oak note. Good balance, structure and value at $19.99 USD. Easy recommendation for a good light sipper! — 8 years ago
Deep scarlet violet glass with translucent scarlet rim. Medium nose of blackberry jam, clove, eucalyptus against a subtle background of dry tobacco and leather. Medium full bodied tart acid hit to the palate of dark fruits, pepper and cocoa. Finishes long with big soft chalky tannins. Well balanced wine with good structure. At $37.99 USD, a little dear but still good for the occasional splurge or accompaniment to your rich dish. — 8 years ago
Great fullness of red with a bit of sweetness.

Scarlet tawny, mostly opaque. Great nose. Notes of rich blackberries, menthol, slate stone, blueberries, iron and some dark soil. Perfectly balanced in the mouth. Fruit with still some pucker and structure. This over performed tonight. — 4 years ago
