Bys I don't understand what wood you're noticing, i don't sense new wood at all! Superb complexity and exuberance in both nose and palate, $17 bottle? This can easily compete around $30. Great spiciness, robust black cherries, herbs and intense tuscan florality. Quite long in finish, with classy sinewy tannins. A slight note of chocolate on nose, but seems more from ripe merlot to me than excessive oak. Hides 15% very well, finishes vibrant and spicy. 45 merlot, 40 cab sauv 15 sangioveto. 2010 vintage. — 11 years ago
