OH SO good. And for a very reasonable price in the 20’s. A spicy rendition, showing clove, white pepper and black tea on the nose (on top of to-be-expected-but-not-unwanted) of ripe red cherry. The palate brings in more green notes, contrasting the ripe fruit and fruitcake spices, but the acid is vibrant, and the tannins are scarcely there—this is a smooth, smooth glass of goodness. — 8 months ago
Crisp nose of unripe pear, honey and lime on the nose. Baked honey crisp apple, white flower, slight petrol on the palate. Lovely minerality and sense of terroir in this wine. — 5 years ago
Deep purple colors in the glass. Heavy cab with blueberry, vanilla, and tasting notes of earth. Very yummy cab and went perfectly with pot roast. — 5 years ago

At first I found this medium bodied, slightly creamy, with prominent stone fruits, white peach and cumquat, with a prominent minerality and slight notes of cheesecake on the nose. Now it’s emerging much more dry with air, still a long, mineral driven palate, still medium bodied, but beautifully balanced and definitely a contract to many California white wines when it comes to complexity and nuance. — 7 months ago

Delish. Buttery, whatever that means — 7 years ago
Good Pinot. The fruit tasted a little cooked, there wasn't much complexity, and the acidity had really faded. I expected more from LWC, especially in a great vintage. — 8 years ago
14.8% abv. Tasty. Dark thick fruits taste. Intense but pleasant. — 3 years ago
One of my favorites. Love this wine but can never find it anymore! — 4 years ago
Oh snap! My first time trying one of the 2017 Mataro’s from Sandlands and this San Benito County is fantastic! Beautiful, pure, fresh plums and other dark cherry with black pepper and other spices. It has an almost ferrous characteristic about it that I find quite charming. Lots of tannin and acid so let this be a note to those who are holding these in their cellar: just wait. This should be killer by 2022 but it’s already pretty exciting to drink. — 5 years ago
This delicious, delicious wine is actually an orange Pinot Grigio, although it looks like a cloudy rosé. It's unfiltered and unrefined, and it tastes like an irresistible summer punch that you can't stop drinking, with notes of strawberry, apricot, and lime. A hint of nuttiness rounds it out, and it's just the right amount of sweet (not too much); it's balanced, clean, and I'll be drinking it alllll summer long. 😍 — 8 years ago
