We had the 2013 Vintage on 5/2-3/21. This was a terrific full bodied, well balanced wine. Tastes of blackberry, plum, kirsch and vanilla on the palate. The tannins were smoothed out. A great example of the Napa floor. — 3 years ago
Nose has over-ripe stinky cherry, dry leather, moist leather, old horse pasture, tomato leaf, blackberry, dried blueberry, dried mint, saturated oak and old cigar.
Palate has blackberry, partially dried cherry, dried raspberry, (minor) moist garden soil, wet raisins with soft tannins and a long finish. Decanted 4H and it's finally starting to really open up.
Mid-shoulder fill on this particular bottle, remaining bottles are looking better. Quite reminiscent of older Bordeaux in the nose/palate traits.
(BTW I love the old labels when they used to underscore the Cabernet Sauvignon, for me it's always been Cabernet Bosché, history in a bottle!) — 4 years ago
Dark red fruit, bramble, cocoa powder and cola. — 7 months ago
A charming left bank blend with a high percentage of CF for 15’. Blueberry, cassis, espresso, dried herbs, and lavender. Hint of crushed rocks too. Medium to full body. A harmonious palate with round gentle acidity, lush texture, and grainy yet polished firm elegant tannins. Lingering lightly candied finish.
Finesse and classy, yet so approachable. — 3 years ago
Scavenged this birth year wine from Cal Poly Pomona’s wine cellar. Actually super clean and lovely! — 10 months ago
Really a very nice Napa Cabernet from a great vineyard site in a good drinking place age wise. On cork pop the oak was too overbearing - that sort of oaky sweetness that I don’t care for. But decanted for a couple hours as a result and quite nice after that. Deep violet in the glass. Deep dark fruit notes. Unmistakably Napa, for sure. Some glycerin feel. But a long finish with just enough acid to keep it together. I don’t often drink Napa cab, but on a fall day with burgers it’s hard to complain. — 4 years ago
