Quite nice for $19 from lastbottle. Silky smooth. Notes of cinnamon and spice. Nice body — 8 years ago
@Paul Treadway I need a 2012 Rudius Knockmore next to this to decide how good it really is!😵😵😜😜🍷🍷🍷 — 8 years ago
Nice deep color, rich black fruit nose. Integrated tannins for a young wine. Balanced and approachable. — 9 years ago
Absolutely stunning. Some savory, salty, sea air, with oyster, chive. Some deep notes of lemon and lime. Perfume as nose comes out of stem. Uber complex, with layers that match nose. A Meursault ying/yang of weight and acid. Thank you Jeff & Brittany!!! — 10 years ago
Really nice pepper and black fruit — 7 years ago
Last of the blind Napa Valley Mountain reds. Dark and deep purplish red. Thick and layered nose with notes of dark mountain berries and sweet spices. Still a baby through out, from the nose through the palate. Heavy chewy tannins (8/10) and full bodied. Very dark and layered palate with notes of purple flowers, bramble berries, black berries, cassis and dark crushed gravel. Long and lingering finish. Built as a big boy mountain Cabernet, definitely worth it. Drink from 2019 till 2039. (94+) | Release price is $135.
Coming up in their next release Rudius will be donating 10% of all sales to help aide those affected by the fires across Northern California. Beside being amazing wines this is also an amazing cause. I will let you guys know as soon as I do when they set it up. #prayforcalifornia — 8 years ago
This estate was a spectacular find this trip! @John Boich was an amazing host and so was Jnani!
@Shay Aldriedge @Martin G Rivard @David L @Ron R @Carl Fischer this is an estate you guys need to check out, especially if you love the Rudius Wines. This is the same winemaker, Jeff Ames, same as TOR too.
Deep and dark ruby red. Dark purple floral attack with lavender and lilacs, followed with tons of savory notes. Nose finished off with some black and blue berries. Heavy tannins (8/10) and tighter than the rest of the Cabernet Sauvignons. A bit savory with dried red berries and black cherries. A little floral too. Full bodied and lingering finish. Drink from 2019 till 2040. — 8 years ago
Not as true to varietal form in scope of GSM with richer, more oak influenced from nose to finish. For the price a great value and enjoyable none-the-less — 10 years ago
Very nice! — 10 years ago
This has got to be the most intricate and detailed label I have ever seen. The back label gives so much information on the vineyard, down to the soil type and composition! I believe Jeff Ames (of Tor & Rudius) is the winemaker here.
@Mark Flesher opened this beauty and it had us thinking the entire time we enjoyed it (only a glass or two before needing to leave). I'll be honest...I'm not sure I've had a Las Piedras wine before. This had a lot more red fruit to it than I expected. At 7 years old, this hasn't even begun its ascent to its peak. The nose on this was gorgeous...that sweet/candied liqueur note alongside dusty blackberries. Almost a bit more pine than cedar here. Rhubarb. The mid palate here is very elegant. Mark mentioned that the nose and entry reminded him of a Caymus SS. The finish seemed like it couldn't make up its mind. Currant, red licorice and faint nutmeg. I feel like this probably revealed much more on day 2...Mark, let me know how it evolved! — 8 years ago
I'd put this 2007 against a Rudius or Paul Hobbs any day. I understand your rating system and this is a 97 point wine. Beautiful, silky tannins and loads of the dark fruit we love from Napa. Nicely extracted and a big red wine. Needed 30 minutes to show its the real deal. Call Lisa Redmon to see if she has a few more bottles. Great people from St Helena. @Paul T @Martin G Rivard @Ron R @David L @Bill Bender @Jim Trobaugh — 8 years ago
Last of 14 bottles purchased from multiple sources over 7 years, with three from the library release a few years back. Always a favorite, although the early bacon fat signature has dissipated over the years. Still a nice Syrah nose of roasted meat and dark fruit, but finish was a bit thin on this auction bottle. Forgot this was 16.5% ABV, but not throwing off any noticeable heat. — 9 years ago
