Justin brought out this great half bottle of 2007 Cask Cabernet, by Rubicon. — 10 years ago
Both were amazing but the Rubicon cab franc was my wine of the night — 10 years ago
I had the 2005 in 2015. Rubicon (now Inglenook) prides themselves on this ubiquitous Cabernet. The tannins are soft and light, not what you'd expect from a Cabernet Sauvignon, but you should. The aging process takes the teeth from the lion.
Regardless, this is still a big bold Cab. Heavy berry flavors: black currant and dark cherry dominate. Barrel notes show up as nut(almond & walnut) and tobacco flavors. A fantastic Cab that comes alive when paired with beef. — 10 years ago

08' Palmaz Cabernet. I'll just jump right into it. I keep taking sips of this wine... thinking I've tasted this before? Two things come to mind. Rubicon & Favia cab combo.🤔Elegant, soft & silky. Chocolate, black fruits, dried red fruits. Not quite as complexed as those wines. That might have something to do with the vintage? Nevertheless, very appealing. Drinking now. What's not to like. If visiting Napa a great tour. — 9 years ago

I liked more than rubicon. — 8 years ago
Made by Rubicon one of the best producers on the island . It's time Malvasia from Lanzarote started getting more attention. The volcanic soil , fresh , fruity but with this underlying minerality . If you never tasted wines from Lanzarote before , look out for them . I love them — 9 years ago
Very fresh, hoppy, but with good balance. 5.4% abv is just right IMO. — 9 years ago
Brick red, has those brownish edges. Started off with a ton of chalk, as it warmed up more meat and leather, nice and savory. As it ended there was a little green bell peppers. Very savory palate, similar to dried meat. Notes of coriander, black pepper and dried herbs. Smooth tannins (6/10) with a little bite at the end. Balanced with a moderate body. Dry finish that lingers for quite a bit. Solid acidity in the finish as well. Very well balanced and structured. Delicious Cabernet from South Africa, and as the fact sheet says, this has held up perfectly well. Loving the meat, pepper and spices in these wines. If you haven't tried a wine from Meerlust we highly recommend it, especially the Rubicon! Now till 2018. — 10 years ago
