I had the 2005 in 2015. Rubicon (now Inglenook) prides themselves on this ubiquitous Cabernet. The tannins are soft and light, not what you'd expect from a Cabernet Sauvignon, but you should. The aging process takes the teeth from the lion.
Regardless, this is still a big bold Cab. Heavy berry flavors: black currant and dark cherry dominate. Barrel notes show up as nut(almond & walnut) and tobacco flavors. A fantastic Cab that comes alive when paired with beef.

This is a special bottling from the Rutherford Estate vineyard. First bottled in 1949. www.rubiconestate.com. We Will enjoy it tonight for our first year wedding anniversary. Staying at la Quinta Resort in Palm Springs.
