An Xmas gift from a close friend @Bill Bender - thank you so much, Bill.
The nose is bright and boisterous, which oozes red currants and cinnamon. On the palate, this presents just like a contemporary burg. Light on its feet. Soft, round tannins with a lovely interplay of relaxed acid. Finishes with delicacy and elegance.
We are really looking forward to securing a 2019 allocation from the winery. — 7 years ago
Absolutely amazing! Rich green apple & green olive scent and a peachy green taste that finishes all too smooth.
Great go to! — 9 years ago
Deep dark garnet color and full bodied. Dark bramble fruit, leather and licorice notes leading to a smooth moderately tannic finish. Delicious, big Cabinet Sauvignon. — 9 years ago
No petrol on the nose. White & yellow florals, soft, subtle, fresh, citrus of; lemon, lime, grapefruit, pineapple, light stone fruits and light, soft minerality. On the palate, such freshness of fruit; pineapple, lemon, lime, grapefruit, stone fruits, melons, gentle and soft minerality. The medium body & finish is pure, elegant, round, lush, exotic & sexy. Not to mention perfect acidity. Photos of another perspective of the properties sensational vistas, Sofia walking the grounds and the Cellar Door. — 9 years ago
Nose is more on the fruit than the spice. Nice aromas of blackberry, black cherry and plum fruit. Hints of graphite, road tar and soy. Ripe lush fruit tannins in palate. Lacks a touch of brightness on mid palate due to vintage. Ready to drink and fantastic with braised lamb shoulder. — 9 years ago
From a vineyard that sits just above the fog line. Herbaceous nose of lemon, dill, cannabis, and caramelized stone fruit, which is an apropos segue to the rich crème brûlée that awaits on the palate. Intense in mouth and just long enough to make an impression before it's rinsed by racy acidity. — 10 years ago
What. Fantastic wine and a prime example as to why WA state is surging with new recognition as the next great thing after OR foursome CA. Integrated with balance and complexity with a great nose and mouthfeel reminiscent of much older wines. I'm a buyer. — 11 years ago
That’s some nice drinkin’ stuff (circa 2017). Thanks to the local somm, Steve, at our Whole Foods for the recom... it was their last bottle and he sacrificed. — 7 years ago
I’m back to unoaked Chardonnay — 7 years ago
Super yummy. Easy to drink and damn delicious. — 8 years ago
Another great last minute gathering at the storage facility!
Dan is the king of busting out these old Marcassins, and every single one has been a revelation...until this one 😕. Don’t get me wrong, this was nowhere close to terrible, but it smelled and tasted of bubblegum. Very faint nuttiness notes to it. — 9 years ago

This was massive but subdued now (old age?)
Concentrated flavors of dark fruits and berries. Smooth, bold and big albeit a bit monotonous. Very low acidity makes it not too interesting. It is a good drinking wine to have with people who like big fruity massive wines . In my cellar for a long time, had to be drunk 😄 — 9 years ago
Loved this wine. Smooth, easy to drink and absolutely delicious! — 9 years ago
Wow. Well balanced. Medium to full. Nice tannins. Young. Viscose. Love #sonomacoastvineyards & fruit. So unique. — 9 years ago

Great Syrah nose fruit and spice...fruit on the palate as well...this is my go-to for a party — 11 years ago
Boich family cellar, 2012 wall road vineyard cab- inky with a purple fruit bouquet, tannins still a bit tight but after decanting smooth with mountain fruit just waiting to burst out - good now but will be amazing in 2 - 5 years — 11 years ago
Silky and seductive, slightly spicy to keep you wanting more and very smooth, creating a refreshing mouthfeel. — 12 years ago
From the cellar door. Had the patience to sample over 3 nights and it’s been getting better and better. I initially found it closed and spicy and on night 3 it has reached a kind of harmony of fruit, spice, and soil. This is not a small wine but its generosity seems to have come honestly. I’m interested to see it integrate more and find more spine and flash but I think it’s wholly possible and likely. — 7 years ago
These Villa Creek wines have continued to grow on me over the years. This was no exception. Lots of lip smacking fruit but executed in a style that sits very nicely with my palate. — 8 years ago
After my first sip, my words were “I wish I had more of this.” Holy smokes. This is hands down one of the best rosés I’ve had out of Cali (alongside the Arnyca rosé). The acidity is so sharp out of the bottle. Love that! So many rosés are flabby and creamy. Kiwi and strawberry in the nose. Watermelon, cantaloupe, and plum skin on the finish. This is the epitome of refreshing rosé. I need to give credit to @Shawn R for gifting me this bottle from when we were together at his house a few months ago. Loved it, brother! Perfect by the fire pit. 👌 — 9 years ago

One of the best Shiraz I've had in a while. It was dry, very complex and all around wonderful to drink. There were hints of leather and coffee. All around great wine. — 9 years ago
This is my go-to wine. It's fruit-forward, and what it lacks in bite, it makes up for in complexity. I have a hard time trying other wines at my local haunt because this one is so good. — 9 years ago
Won the Trophy for Best Shiraz at the National Wine Show 2012. Fruit from the Gundagai region and starting to put this region on the map. Peppery red fruits and starting to develop some leather notes at 7 years. A nice counterpoint to the lush Barossa styles showing the versatility of Shiraz. — 9 years ago
Apple, mango, lemon and a little peach fruit. Very balanced minerality and acidity. Long and complex finish in which some nuttiness and petrol comes up. It might be interesting to keep this one a while. Other comments suggest that this develops well as it ages a bit. — 10 years ago
Tons of cherry and berry fruits complimented by high acidity allow this wine to be paired with food or drank alone. Very versatile Pinot! — 11 years ago

Classic RRV Chard served for Thanksgiving 2019. Nose of herbs and butter. Entry of honeysuckle, mango, wildflowers. Middle gains a limestone grit. Finishes with brighter acidity than I would have expected given that the entry of this wine is quite a bit more rounded than I expected it to be. Hint of walnut. Very balanced. These wines are built for an extremely long haul, 1 to 2 decades. Drink or hold. — 7 years ago
