Tiny hint of reduction but beyond that it is super floral and with loads of cherry fruit. Iron, very mineral. Elemental stuff. Dusty and very very refined. Hit of licorice. Really alluring nose. Just stunning. These wines give nothing in their youth and then the blossom. Stunningly fresh and vibrant with still some tannic grip but wonderful balance and depth. Saps your palate and tales of over. This is truly on its way to being great. It’s long and saline and has floral echoes on the finish. Profound. But with age, 3-6 more years, this will be lights out. — 7 years ago

Good, but not my favorite. Very different from the Ruinart we had before. Much darker in color and significantly more tannins. — 10 months ago
Dusty patina (like walking through a Japanese temple) pomegranate and cranberry. Mixed white and black peppercorns. Uplifting acid (in a good way) that super complements food. TBL — 4 years ago

A perfect and very special Thanksgiving dinner accompaniment. Crisp, strawberry notes, nice and dry. Delicious! — 5 years ago
super interesting expression, not too much toast, lemon, good acid, amber color — 6 years ago
Tasted blind. Light tawny and translucent. Old wine nose. Notes of soft delicate red fruit, light rhubarb, some mushroom and some sweet cherries. In the mouth it’s missing impact and energy. Acidity is very light. Past it’s prime, although I wonder if this was open too long as the host said it was singing when opened, but then had 6 hrs in the decanter. Guessed mid 60s red burg. — 7 years ago
1999 LeRoy Romanee St. Vivant. Dinner at Ros w K. Decanted over an hour. Youthful, tons of fruit, lots of acid. Excellent. Truly one of the best burgundies we’ve had. — 8 years ago
