I'm not sure if this is a different bottling than there normal DOC Barbera, but this is bottle was much better than any Ratti wine I've had in the past (including their Baroli). The perfect lunch wine. — 11 years ago

A unique and very attracting wine - Fermentation of Grillo grapes with wild yeasts in barrels of 500 l capacity and aging of 12 months on its lees, 30 months aging - it was a project from Renato. - a lovely wine to pair with food 😃👍 — 11 years ago

Do you know the wineries in the USA that still use the racking method. I can't seem to find the information on the Internet

Most wineries still rack wine if they are using barrels. Racking is just transferring the wine from several barrels into one container so it can be bottled. Sometimes they will do it to remove sediment. Two examples are Ridge and Andrew Will. My family's winery actually doesn't rack because they don't use sulfites. Racking can introduce oxygen.

Battaglione Barbera d'Alba 2014

Very funky- dark, fermented cherries and blackberries, rubber/tires, leather, hairdryer. Enjoyed this, but took awhile to warm up. Definitely recommend pairing with food, was great with beef short rib, alone it is a bit much. — 9 years ago
