Riesling's have a reputation for being sweet. So I was a bid reluctant when my sister asked me to try this white. Of course, I have enjoyed Trefethen wines for over 20 years (it was one of my mother's favorite vineyards). While the palate is not as complex as a red, this crisp, light glass is refreshing on a warm day. And it does not break the bank at under $20; however, it may be difficult to find. Double trouble. Short decant, tight and reluctant first 30 minutes with not much depth, then opened beautifully and put on weight and complexity. A front load of cassis, then bruised plum and warm wet earth. Suggest 3 hour decant to let it strut. — 10 years ago

Absolutely did not expect to taste this but was totally blown away. The 2000 seemed rather closed the night I had it, but this younger 2004 really showed its stuff. Medicinal earthy aromas mixed with sweet cherry tones and smokey complex notes just continued to evolve on the palate.
