Barrel aged and drank nice. Very rich and dry. Tannin astringency . Opened up after an hour in bottle. Suggest decanting. — 6 years ago

Nicely mineral with peach, pineapple and lemon zest! Perfect for a beach day! — 8 years ago
Yeasty stuff, brioche-aromas, fresh, raspberry- and red currants only in the background, almost Champagne-like. Very nice bubbles. — 9 years ago
Veldig god vin med lite sukker. Fruktig men ikke så mye eple smak som jeg hadde håpt på — 3 years ago
Pear skin and mineral aroma. Meyer lemon, green apple. Intense flavors persist. Phalz terroir I love — 4 years ago
Lovely nose, amazing taste. Complex, with acidity, bitterness and fruit in it’s place. Delicious GG — 6 years ago
Nice balance of honey to acid. A very light straw color and lemon papaya nose. Strong yellow fruits on the tongue and a tingling acid finish. Remarkable as it warms to room temp. Easy to finish and start a second bottle. So, what's your life story...? Very satisfying at around $16 a bottle. — 7 years ago
A bit riper (just a hint of Maracuja & Cassis shining through the nearly completely closed nose) than the Pechstein but still bone dry on the palate. Again a high but super ripe acidity, still needs time to get together. Wouldn't open a bottle the next 5 years. — 8 years ago

Last time I had one of these was 4 years ago in November 2017. Similar tasting note without the petillance. A very good quaffing dry German Riesling (12.5%ABV). Slatey minerality with yellow peachy notes. Tasted another 18 weeks later on 5th May 2022. Nothing to write home about to be honest. Just a good dry German Riesling quaffer. Notes as above. 88 points. Tasted another one on 28th November 2022 with consistent notes as above. — 3 years ago

Dry. Clean.
Light body. — 8 years ago
Rich example from Pfalz. Rather mature with exciting petrol showing through the vibrant lime and lemon that rules the show. — 9 years ago

Next to Morstein is Ungeheuer probably my favourite VDP.Lage. Showing deep minerality that I love in my Riesling this is only missing bottle age. This will just get better and better — 3 years ago
