Strikingly youthful. Deep garnet almost all the way to the rim. Complex aromatics of ripe berries, baking spices and licorice, lead, cedar and forest floor. Ample acidity brightens the palate, and regal, nearly-resolved tannins coat the mouth. Finely integrated and harmonious, this has plenty of life in it, but no reason to hold any longer. — 8 years ago

Rich and regal; fruit stands up to the heat. — 9 years ago
Great fresh acidity and tropical sweetness. Clementines or satsumas ( I'm not able to distinguish between my miniature citrus fruits) — 9 years ago

"Love. Of course, love. Flames for a year, ashes for thirty." This well-known quote by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa' s The Leopard, sum up in few words who's the true enemie in aging wine and waiting too much before you die: the time! Arianna's SP68 white - she's a sicilian native as the writer of The Leopard - is here to remind us first of all that life is too short to collect so many wines without knock them back sooner mainly when they're pleasant fresh and fragrant; therefore that her wine more than others, is a flame of supreme love, though, we must drink up before it turns into ashes! — 10 years ago
Beautifully evolved nose of leather, mulberry, brambly red berries, clove and dried mint. Medium-bodied with a regal countenance—there is still tons of structure, with mouth-coating fine grain tannin in abundance. Truly, this wine could go on and on and on in the cellar. The 1989 Château Montrose is not terribly fruit-driven, rather it's interior space is occupied by notes of dusty, clayey soil, cedar, black tea and spice. That wonderful impression of clove is on the finish, too. — 11 years ago
Fantastic. Shining right from the beginning with all kinds of regal depth and intensity on the nose; leather, metal, rocks. In the mouth it is light silky and soft with a finish of bright shining Chardonnay. This is a pleasure to drink and great with all sorts of food. The transparency that shows as it evolves in my mouth allows the space for any of the foods this evening to play nicely. Also plenty good by itself. Everyone in any situation should love this wine. Magnum only. Value for sure. — 7 years ago

The clos des papes was so pristine and pure, no wood, but it was massive in the mouth and very finessed at once, bursting with baskets of cherry raspberry and blackberry in dried thyme and wet rocks, couldn't smell alcohol at all and fruit smelled so pure, palate was mega concentrated with a herb and mineral finish, and waves of fresh fruit, felt the alcohol 15.5%!! A bit in the back end, Tannins were very fine and regal, no astringency at all but plenty of grip. A blockbuster but still carried itself with freshness, balance and purity, a fantastic wine that shouldnt be touched for at least 5 more years and for sure will age well for another 15-20. A relative value at $119, and very burgundian in its purity and lacey texture. 2011 vintage. — 10 years ago
German '10 are so supreme. But I haven't met a wine that I thought had too much acid. Great expression of the region, classic structure and lively salt-and-peaches nose. — 11 years ago
Most surprising wine of the wknd. Supreme balance. 4/17 disgorge. 70/30 pn/chard according to Kermit Lynch website — 7 years ago
After tasting this on Friday, I went back to the well. We love this bottling. Great producer, and a reasonable price.
Pristine presentation, with those regal elements of coffee, barrel toast and a hint of vanillin. It been produced with a deep extraction. Wifey gave it 92 - there it is! — 8 years ago

Lovely floral lifted loght and powerful pink with the Regal structure of Mourvèdre closing the deal and giving length and run (and the calcaire doesn't hurt) — 11 years ago

Domaine de Terrebrune's Bandol Rouge tastes of the arid landscape from which it is born. Aromas of rosemary, garrigue, fennel, and dried violet waft from the glass, before presenting a pure, stoic pillar of more earthly flavors on the palate. Terrestrial and ethereal at once, Terrebrune embraces both Bandol's more regal and gratifyingly rustic characters. 85% Mourvèdre, 10% Grenache, 5% Cinsaut. — 7 years ago
