Sangiovese/merlot blend with notes of black cherry and raspberry. Full bodied, fine tannins with a long lingering finish. Great quality to price ratio. 92 — 10 years ago
Rich, but not too heavy. Tastes like an cloudy, black, late spring night, earthy. Bitterness to fruit ratio very addictive — 11 years ago

Aromas of green apples, oranges and pears with hints of toast and yeast. High acidity and long finish makes it perfect champagne. Great price/value ratio. — 11 years ago
Insane good qtp ratio. Outstanding — 10 years ago
This did not last long. You want to stick your nose in it there's so much going on. Sadly the finish isn't as compelling. But the QPR ratio on a 16 yo wine was outstanding. Prob not as good younger, but mellowed out? Delish — 10 years ago
Half bottle of tje 2004 is under 20$ in quebec, canada. This is an incredible quality price ratio. Had this with fois gras layered with reduced sauterne, it was wonderfull. — 10 years ago
Another winner from the heralded 2010 vintage, this amazing Q/P-ratio wine captures the essence of Nebbiolo. Rich, almost smokey, pretty decadent nose with crushed, white flowers complementing the tar, asphalt and red berries aromas, all nicely echoed on the accessible yet age-worthy palate. Nice 50/50 ratio of steel to oak barrel taste! — 11 years ago
Delicious Pinot Noir. Not too heavy, just the right bitter to sweet ratio. — 13 years ago
Another outstanding effort from Greg Brewer at Melville. The indigene series of their Small Lot collection is almost always my favorite. Brilliant strawberry on the nose coming from clone 115, but the use of indigeneous yeast (as opposed to innoculation) always seems to impart a subtle complexity to this wine despite being a single clonal bottling. Terrific spice on the nose and palate that I always associate with Melville (but far more subtle and integrated that what one finds in the Verna's, for example), this is what Santa Rita Hills pinot is all about. This is not my favorite incarnation of the 115 Indigene - that was the 2006 - but this is still a terrific wine. Across the board, for my money Melville is the best quality/price ratio for pinot you're going to find anywhere in the Central Coast. — 10 years ago

Decanted 2011 for 3hrs. Nice fruit/acid ratio. — 11 years ago
Excellent cost-performance ratio! — 11 years ago
Excellent wine for the price ratio here. Started collecting every vintage since 2004. Never disappoints. One of my favourites for sure. — 11 years ago
