This may be the smoothest Hermitage I've had @ £83 it's like a pig rolling in velvet 🐷 so smooooth 😍 Great now but 97+ over next 5-20yrs 😎

👄 Med+ body incredibly super smooth olive tapenade, blackberry & dark cherry - surprisingly well balanced @ this age 👍

A superb wine had in the Caribbean. Immediately from the pour you could tell that it had much vitality in it with deep ruby to purple coloration and a big wild mushroom nose. Needed surprisingly little time to open up and develop. This was my first Mouton Rothschild and wasn't disappointed to say the least. The tannins were delicate to the touch, giving the overall mouthfeel a sense of sublimity. — 9 years ago

Made with complete cluster of grapes, dark inky purple in color, smells of nail polish, white pepper, tobacco with lively but restrained acidity, firm and strong tannin, tastes of leather, salty meat, raspberry, mineral stone, mint and herb, full body with complex long finish. It’s Thursday but this is a Friday wine. Deep purple in colour, nose is a fruity mix of blackberry, cherry, liquorice and chocolate. Tannins are a little gripping but they allow the flavour to linger, I can taste cherries, blueberries, cloves and pepper. This is a well balanced wine which is very drinkable but no doubt will be smoother in a few years. Recommended. — 7 years ago

Bold, big and full bodied.

Smooth, sweet and sexy on the palate, with blackberries, dried figs, raisins, black pepper, vanilla and herbs.

Clear deep purple colour with watery rim. Clean medium intensity aroma with minty black cherry and black currant with hint of oak smokiness and vanilla. Dry on the palate full bodied medium alcohol with medium acidity and high but smooth velvety tannin. Flavours of earthy black currant, black cherry, and vanilla. Flavours last through into its long pleasant finish. Very good quality, drink now but can age for another 3 to 5 years for a even more balanced complexity. — 11 years ago
