Ya buddy!!! @Paul Treadway Huntington Beacher i've said it before but i agree with you on the style of the whites. The beckstoffers and single vineyard cabs rock it. The blends are usually solid.

Such a great wine. If you like big, fruit-forward, silky wines that punch well above their price point this is one for you. Lots of berries and vanilla on the nose, lush black and red fruit, hint of minerality, sweet tannins with a long finish. Made by Julien Fayard (winemaker at Purlieu - another great wine), this **easily** holds its own with wines costing 2x as much. — 10 years ago

@Carl Fischer : Never had this wine, but JFayard is in town tomorrow doing a tasting at the storage facility where I keep my wine and he’s pouring this, Azur, Covert and Taplin. I’ve only had Covert, and this review of yours makes me excited to try this!

JL Purlieu tasting 6/16/17. ABV 15.5%. Oakville. $160. #6. nose that's like others but with a hint of gaminess and balanced by fruit and sweetness. Palate that's very fruit forward and dark chocolate and very velvety and silky with kind balanced complex finish. Quite delicious. This is best of the bunch especially how it's relatively priced to the others. — 9 years ago

Julien Faynard of Purlieu and Covert just took over winemaking here.
Light orangey pink, almost blush in color. Layered nose with light strawberries, some kiwi and river rock in the finish. Moderate acidity (7/10) and light to medium bodied. Palate has notes of strawberries, and a little melon. Bright and crisp, very refreshing. Slightly stoney finish, long and dry finish. Drink till 2019. — 9 years ago
