Amazing - lots of fruit, smooth — 6 years ago
Serious cider for serious drinkers... the combination between the apples and noble smoky wood made my day. Fermented to perfection. Dry, tart and smoky with a clean and refreshing finish. It taste like ancient wisdom got thirsty. Can’t get much better than this... IMPERATIVE!!! # To serve, we splash it into the glass, pouring from a very long distance so the cider aerates — if you let it linger too long in the glass, the aeration gets lost and the cider won’t be enjoyable to drink. — 7 years ago
We enjoyed this. Just drinking, no pairing. — 7 years ago
Pleasant red blend from Texas! Dark red fruit, mildly tannic, smooth and easy. — 7 years ago
Visiting Fredericksburg TX for a few days. This is TX hill country and has a big winery community. Never tried any TX wines before but found a few surprises here. We tasted at Becker earlier today but not this wine. $30 on the restaurant wine list. Becker wasn’t our favorite stop but it is the only local winery represented on their list. Overall local wines seemed overpriced compared to CA wines. Just realized we had an older vintage (2018) on our last trip from Houston to Anaheim. It’s interesting that most of the grapes used in the local wines come from Lubbock (panhandle) area. Don’t know where these grapes came from, or what varietals are present. — 4 years ago
"displays aromas of berries, spiced and cocoa. it shows complexity on the palette of plum and mature red fruits balanced with subtle tannins intense blackberry flavors and spice offset by ripe fruit characteristics". A wonderful wine by a beautiful, great new Texas Hill Country vineyard. — 5 years ago
Very pleasant Texas Malbec. Consider it a solid red table wine. — 6 years ago

Wine estate : Louis Bovard
Designation : Saint-Saphorin
Name : Salix Chenin Blanc
Country : Switzerland
Vivino : 4.5/5
Note : The Salix from Bovard is beautiful! A light yellow silky robe and a nose of citrus fruits, pears and apples accompanied by a slight mineral touch. On the palate, Salix is gourmet, tasty, long and refreshes us. A taste as an aperitif, eating or even alone, it will always make you happy.

I had the ‘16 vintage of this a few months back in comparison to the Ron Yates SB. I thought the ‘16 was nice, but that the Ron Yates SB was better in every aspect. @Ron Yates told me, in his opinion, the ‘17 Spicewood was better than both the ‘16 Spicewood and the Ron Yates ‘16.
It’s 103 here in TX, and I’m sweating more than this bottle, so it’s prime SB weather.
I’m happy to report that I think I’m aligned with Ron here. In comparison to the Spicewood ‘16, the aromatics on this just jump out of the glass with tons of fruit. Kiwi, lychee, and peach...wow! Great nose. Sharp acidity highlighted by honeyed grapefruit, limestone and chalk. Well done, Ron! — 7 years ago
Really like this one. Sweet enough but too much. — 7 years ago

LOVE Just Because - Southhold Farm + Cellar 2019 Dolcetto Texas Hill Country
Prominent rosy floral nose. Acid and tannins. Not at all sweet. Cherries, melon, tannins and earthy stems. A little bit of cedar and meaty notes. Flavors unfold gradually on the tongue as you sip and savor. Beautiful translucent light ruby color. Slightly cloudy, but NOT inky or opaque. Tasty. The sharp acidity paired well with a spicy fresh homemade pizza. Not gulpable - makes you drink it slow, enjoy all the flavors. — 5 years ago
Very good. Fruit forward and a little sweet. Not quite jammy but getting there. — 6 years ago
Texas wines have grown. This is an outstanding blend of Grenache Syrah and Mourvèdre from Salt Lick Vineyard. This is a complex wine with great structure and finesse. Great to see the Lone Star State wines mature and compete in the world stage. Visited the Fall Creek Vineyards. Well worth it can’t get it retail because of the limited production but can get it online. New release of the 2016 vintage. Excellent! — 7 years ago

Note : 5⭐️ for this wonder! Always a pleasure to taste. Its salmon robe sparkling with fine bubbles makes us travel out of time in a soothing, relaxing, comforting space. On the nose, a minerality accompanied by exotic and refreshing fruits, a hint of brioche, peach, star dust and dreams. On the palate, a perfect end, a greedy and sublime gourmandise. YummY
