Excelente sorpresa de Toro!Opuesto a lo que uno esperaria de la región. — 10 years ago
Five years cork age on this beauty; glad the decision was taken to drink (now who relies on natural cork); wildly full of pinot noir development; nose heaviness; layers of mature pinot tertiary aromatics; such as herbal oils, deep nuts, mushroom, aged yeast bits too; drunk with raw scallop, celery, fennel shavings, mullet bottarga; dressed with lime, olive oil; Pol brings out the savouriness of the green vegetables; salt of the sea, sweetness of scallop; all veges home grown; palate is full on; powerful, not the massiveness of Winston Churchill but same mould; square wine which hardly tapers in the mouth; the amazing feats of champagne! @polroger #polroger #champagne #1999 #pinot — 11 years ago

Last of the library bottles, the champagnes, then perhaps the magnums. After that, it's back to "current drinking" ;-) — 13 years ago
If Pol is a great summer time champers this is probably best in front of a roaring log fire in the middle of winter. A substantial heartier champers with its higher Pinot Noir content showing through. A lovely contrast to the Pol Roger. — 9 years ago
This champagne brought us back to reality. Just a standard bearer of a champagne reminiscent of a Pol Roger. — 10 years ago
An excellent wine to toast to our cruise! Thanks NCL! — 10 years ago
A rare wine from Pol Roger-magnum from 1990; tiraged for the year 2000; so good; never tasted before; now an eventful wine; mature brulee style, nice honey, taut acid, all there. #drinkchampagne #champagne #polroger #year2000 #rare — 10 years ago
Nice minerality, clean, balanced, could be a tad richer. — 11 years ago
Not as good as the Pol Roger — 12 years ago

What a treat to have a taste of 1997 Salon Blanc de Blancs. So complex: Toast, chalky minerality, spice, cacao, cloves. Fresh yet rich, balanced, with palate coating bubbles. What a gorgeous wine. Merci beaucoup @lamamouniamarrakech. Although maybe sacrilegious not to have Pol Roger in the Churchill Bar? #winelife #pianobar #travel #marrakech #morocco #champagne — 10 years ago

Lovely bubbles, crisp lemon flavours. Not overly rich. Similar to a Pol Roger — 10 years ago
