Tree House Brewing Co. Wishful American IPA. 7.2% ABV — 5 years ago
Ripe tree red fruits on the nose, cranberry and red cherries, and a little earthiness (Earl Grey Tea per Andrea). Light on the palate with tart cranberry acid, strawberry fruitiness, and good acid with some lingering earthy tannin. Fruitier than expected for Oregon, and would make an awesome Thanksgiving wine. Paired amazingly with salmon over a mushroom risotto. — 5 years ago
Well it was worth the wait. This bottle was fantastic. — 6 years ago

Perfect brunch/porch (with the tree guys & a good book the day after your b-day) sipper.

Slightly underipe strawberries, fig, raspberry, slightly round mouth feel, toast, subtle but not too delicate — 7 years ago
Drank on 8/10/17 a very subtle wine, I like this. Another good inexpensive Merlot — 8 years ago
Great find. Full of blackberries, plums (the ones that are red inside), spicebox, palm tree leaves, with a slight touch of Rutherford valley dust at the end but mostly full dark purple/red mountain body. Silky smooth and recommend a try. Vineyards are farmed by Jon-Mark Chappellet and it shows. — 8 years ago
Wowza! I have loved every bottle of Bedrock I have tasted, but this one is a stunner. Morgan is known for red blends, but my favorites are the whites. I have loved the Rieslings for a couple of years, but now I have a new girlfriend. Wish I could have bought a case.
The nose is typical for the AVA, more tropical than tree fruit, but then on the palate delivers sharply focused acidity, that desirable balance of acid and wood that I find in great Burgundy, some nice spice and butterscotch to round it out and all lemon custard on the finish. Simple and complex at the same time, can’t wait to see what this wine will do with some time under its belt.
Is there anything that this guy can’t make beautifully. Definitely my go to producer these days. Check it out. — 4 years ago
Perfect pizza wine four hours decanted. Vicolo Corn Meal Goat Cheese Pizza with our fresh ingredients.
The body is round, rich & lush. The structure, tension, balance & finish still need 3-5 years plus years to truly shine. Slightly sweet & sour & floral, dark cherries, ripe blueberries, dark plum, black raspberries, dark, slightly, sweet tarriness, anise, lead pencil, dry stone, dry clay, dark spice, limestone, crushed, dry rocks, nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, vanillin, fresh & dry tobacco, dry twigs, tree sap, dry herbs, savory meats, touch of pepper with candied & withering; dark, red, purple & some blue flowers framed in lavender & violets. Very good cool stream river acidity. The finish is still youthful (even decanted 4 plus hours) well balanced fruit & earth, ripe, juicy, elegant & it persists endlessly.
Even better in 3-5 years.
Produttori at the time we were there in the fall of 2015 was the 3rd largest European Co-op. It is located at the top of the town of Barbaresco, right under the church. We tasted there before going into Gaja down the street. Then, onto one of the best Michelin starred restaurants that is adjacent to Gaja we’ve had. 70 Euros lunch for two. The food was outstanding & rarely had that level of service. — 5 years ago

2002 Sine Qua Non “Just For The Love Of It” Syrah. 15.2% Alcohol. So I have a confession to make. When this wine was released and Mr. Parker rated it 100 points (and correct me if I’m wrong, but I think this might have been the first Parker SQN 100 pointer), I couldn’t wait to pull the cork. And when I did, I was totally.......underwhelmed! I began questioning Parker. Questioning Manfred. Questioning my palate. What was I missing? What was my problem? Could I continue on in this world? Well, I never did reconcile things, and then “Papa” was released and all was right with the world again. So here we are, 15 years hence, and I’m here to report that Mr. Parker knew what he was talking about after all. We’re talking absolute perfection screaming from my Zalto stem. Notes of exotic flowers, toasty oak, anise and spice box on the nose. Just gorgeous. I could swirl and sniff all evening. On the palate, a predominance of sweet black currant, white pepper, blackberries and plum jam. Juicy, opulent, intense, pure. Stunning really. Endless finish. I haven’t tasted this wine in ten years because as I said, it never impressed me. But it just jumped up to co-number 1 SQN Syrah with me along with “Poker Face” and “The 17th Nail In My Cranium.” One addendum to Mr. Parker’s review which stated this wine would drink well for 10-15 years. This piece of art is just getting started! Remember, “...never for money.” — 8 years ago

Charles strikes again.
I said weeks ago, I’d rather drink Charles Hendricks Pinot in futures @ $75 vs. the 09 Marcassin we had two weeks back @ $150+ winery or $225+ on the secondary market. This 14, while still young, proves that point and will only continue to get better.
It’s about as luxurious as Ca Pinot gets. Just supple, soft & elegant as body gets. Candied, floral fruits of ripe; blackberries, dark cherries, blue fruits, lean purple fruits, dry cranberries, strawberries, plums, delicate but darks spices, cinnamon stick, vanillin, nutmeg & touch clove, salted caramel, mocha powder, limestone & grey volcanics, dry crushed rocks hints of peppered grilled meats, fresh & dry tobacco, dry stems/twigs, sage dominated dry Provence herbs, splash of mint/eucalyptus, tree sap with bright candied, fresh & slightly withering florals of; dark, red, purple, blue set in a field of violets & some lavender. The acidity is perfect. The long finish is; extremely well balanced & polished, elegant, fresh, just the right amount of candied with a long, dark spice finish in the long set.
The 14 really started to excel after an hour plus in the decanter.
Photos of; the outside of the Hope & Grace tasting room in downtown Yountville where you will find Charles Hendricks wines. He makes Hope & Grace wines as well. One of my favorite paintings that used to sit behind their tasting bar but, is now in Charles house. It is very Pollock like! Pale light lemon yellow. Rounded nose with notes of wax, green apples and a touch of honey suckle. Medium plus acidity (7/10) and light plus body. Lots of tree fruits and citrus notes on the palate. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2027. — 7 years ago
