Robust Super Tuscan with medium tannin, served with pasta at Alta Strada in Wellesley, MA — a year ago
If I had rated this one the night I opened it, I would have given it a slightly lower score. At first, I caught aromas of leather and meat drippings and flavors of sundried tomatoes. A couple of nights later, the wine had opened up nicely and had more floral and spice aromas and flavors of red berries and earth. Needless to say, an interesting wine, indeed. And from the Canary Islands! Huh. 90% Listan Negro, 10% Castellana Negra. 9/1/22. — 3 years ago
Takes 2 hours to open up but then cherry and soft tannins. — 6 years ago
Black cherries, cloves, leather and tar. It's a ripe, overt Napa Cab that has an attractive balance and surprisingly silly tannins. Approachable now but would be happy to cellar this for a while longer.
Enjoyed at Simon and The Whale in NYC paired with the Simon Burger, which was beautifully prepared, if rather fussy with endless aiolis and such like. — 7 years ago
Opened this one 24hrs ago, yet it still comes across as primary and youthful. Big wine, full bodied, baked fruit cobbler, vanilla, baking spices, ink, licorice, black pepper. Beautiful and balanced, also due to a judicious dosage of fine acidity. Long, uplifting finish with wonderful tannines - dusty and ripe.
‘Unvintaged’ blend of 2017, 2016, 2015 and a pinch of 2012. — 9 months ago
A striking rose gold color in the glass; I don't recall this catching my attention so much on all prior bottles!
Nose has oxidized pear, orange zest and fresh brioche.
Palate has tart tangerine, lemon pith, white grapefruit and under-ripe raspberry. Great acidity but balanced creamy notes.
Disgorged January 2021; Dosage 7 G/L; 2018 base vintage.
Always a must-buy wine, fantastic value. — 3 years ago

Pleasant aperitif. Moscato style presumably from Muscat grape, but varietals in blend not specified. A low alcohol (7.5), little sweet and little sparkling, fruit-forward wine. — 7 years ago
Medium full body, dark color
Nose: pomegranate,cola
Pomegranate and chocolate, a little sweetness, dusty, long chocolaty finish
Argentina Malbec fruit imported to Caymus by sea voyage. $45

The NV Brut 7 Crus is a very pretty, entry-level wine in this range. Bright, mineral and intensely vibrant, the 7 Crus is all energy. All the elements are so well proportioned. A blend of 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir, this captures all the house signatures with tons of energy and better overall balance than in some previous editions. White flowers, chalk and citrus linger. Dosage is 6 grams per liter. Disgorged: June, 2023. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, November 2023)

Well balanced and citrusy notes. Low dosage. Yet not as good as a similar low dosage NV Bereche I had a few days ago. — 3 years ago
Fantastic cab, perfect by itself or wine dinner. Great compliment with the filet mignon I had tonight. Dry, yet a touch sweet, deep bold flavors. — 5 years ago
