Day 3 in Napa in the books! Running a day behind on notes...Napa time runs slow AND fast!

Main reason we go out this time of year each year...the Flora Springs Trilogy Release Party! This was our 5th year in a row to attend. For comparison sake, this is less acidic than ‘15, but more structured than ‘14. Close to ‘13 in style. Trilogy style with fig, nutmeg, espresso, mainly black fruit, & a small dollop of floral/violet notes. — 8 years ago

Gerard Bertrand was born and raised in the South of France, making wine with his father, Georges, since the age of 10. Went to a private Rosé tasting and this was one of the better ones. Deep pink with fruit, floral and citrus aromas. Palate shows peachy notes with citrus tones, fresh and crisp. A tad drying on the finish ending with fruit character. Nicely balanced. The steamy finessed intricate pink bubbles tease you as they dance around the glass hypnotising you to take a sip of the deep clear amber, shining copper & salmon love juice. The nose seduces with a powerful floral cherry red berry smokey soil leafy peachy brioche mist. Helplessly your palette succumbs to a smooth rich strawberry peach & red berry biscuity mousse caress that teases you to take another as the kiss lingers on and on. I thought the 96 pink DP was hot but this is X-rated! Drank in a Zalto Burgundy glass & decanted.

Light salmon pink, light bodied, not much aroma until it was in glass for about 30 minutes then some soft melon and strawberry, flavors much more pronounced than the nose. Strawberry, watermelon rind, medium/low acid but still balanced, dry and a little spritzy. — 9 years ago
