Well I'm not surprised to say that there was a bit of challenges with the cork from this 1997 Süssreserve Vidal from Pillitteri. Fortunately the cork maintained it's overall structure enough to protect the wine! :) Notes: the colour is a honey yellow showing signs of significant aging. The nose is instantly intriguing with melons very present. The sugars in this Vidal has allowed for a graceful cellaring over the past 17 years. The flavours include honeydew melon, with some balancing acidity. — 9 years ago

Medium garnet, some bricking, bright. Excellent tertiary character and integrated oak: smoke, sweet wood, dark red fruit, blackberry, toasted coconut, vanilla, milk chocolate, mint, light alcohol. Soft acid with balanced residual sugar,medium-full bodied, red- black berry fruits. Good length with gentile heat. — 11 years ago
