Thursday night on the precipice of another closed in weekend. Tonight I have opened the 2017 Domaine Les Grands Bois Les 3 Soeurs Côte du Rhóne. A blend of 65% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 5% Carignan.

On the nose I am getting heavy savory notes, cured meat, black raspberry, black cherry, bacon fat, black pepper, burnt caramel, clove, cinnamon a d smokey oak.

On the palate there is black cherry, black raspberry, savory notes, smokey herbal notes, black pepper, licorice, baking spice and dark soil.

This wine is full bodied with medium + acidity and medium to medium + fine tannins that leads right into a long dark brooding finish. This wine is still very young and needs time to fill out to show it's true self. We are starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel for this pandemic we have been going through. Very Light colour. Reduction on the nose at first but then opens up beautifully with some air, red berries, spices, a touch of wood it seems or cigar box but not dominant. The palate has superb energy, freshness and such pure delicious fruit, classy and elegant, drinks like a charm. My fourth or fifth bottle of this Monthelie premier cru and each one was great. This master of white wine succeeds also with his reds. 91-92+



Nez avec un peu de réduction qui s’estompe et se dévoile de façon magistrale, fruits rouges, épices, touche de bois il me semble mais sans dérangé, boite à cigares un tout petit peu étrangement. Une bouche d’une superbe énergie, gourmandise et fraîcheur, tellement pur comme vin, classe et élégance, ça se boit tout seul. Un maître du vin blanc qui réussit aussi ses rouges et je l’ai constaté avec plusieurs bouteilles de cette cuvée déjà. 91-92 + — 5 years ago

Que les soit disant vignerons natures prennent de la graine et apprennent ce que nature veut dire

N est ce pas mr Bouju, mme Dumora et tant d autres .... restez humble et faites des vins stables
