Nice gold-straw color. Nose is a little obscure at cellar temp but light citrus and tropical fruit really shine as the wine warms a bit. Bright acidity on the tongue Great mouthfeel-- almost chardonnay like. A lot of Malo for an Alsace which makes the wine a little heavy. Would go great with any white fish. In a world of pinot grigio, this had surprising character that stood out. Refreshing as PG should be, but offering good citrus and honey tastes, with fuller body. Perhaps a step child of a chardonnay field? Yummy. Recommend. — 6 years ago

2007 Peter Michael Point Rouge Chardonnay. HB w MnD and J&D B. We loved this wine wine so much at the Heart concert and we loved it tonight. Floral, along with notes of buttery brioche and oak. However, somewhat surprisingly, as we drank this in comp to the 2013 Ridge Monte Bello Chardonnay, it did not win out. Still such a great wine that we really, really enjoyed. — 10 years ago

25 year anniversary of this wine. I have been a Peter Franus fan for a long time. This zin is medium ruby, black and white pepper, clove, cedar, red cherry, vanilla on the nose--the wood is definitely pushing through, but not overpowering. On the palate, more blue/black fruit emerges, blackberry mainly. Tannins still pretty dry, alcohol high. I think this can rest even longer but it's great now too. Awesome!!!
