Notes of BlackBerry, smooth finish. Very tasty. — 8 years ago
Mid Gold in colour. What a treat - a 15 Year old Riesling from the Eden Valley with fresh Pacific Oysters. Aromas of Florist Shop Herbs and Talc. Surprisingly low Kero. On the palate Lime juice Minerality and a touch of stone fruit. Amazingly fresh for its age with an acid finish. Will go another 5 years and be a 20 year Riesling. The perfect Oyster wine. — 8 years ago

In great shape after a decade in the bottle. A solid Barossa Cab Sav #barossa #cabernetsaugvinon — 9 years ago
Nice burgundy color with light coffee shade on the rim. Nose of some chocolate, ripe plum, powerful alcohol, spice, salty, and flowering note. Alcohol is dominant. Taste of young bright acidity with hidden sweetness, raisins, some flowering note, zesty and low tannins. Aftertaste is primarily lingering sweet note with slight bitterness on the rim of the tongue. Nothing wrong with this wine, but I kind of expecting more complexity from this red blend. After 30 minutes of decanting, sweetness like vanilla and ripe berries surfaces and becomes dominant. But the complexity is still missing. — 9 years ago
A full weighted Barossa wine, lacks structure to be top draw Cabernet. — 5 years ago
The final wine at the Peter Lehmann dinner at the Downs Club and the whole point of the dinner. Delectable: this new cuvée is called the Masterson and is a Barossa Valley Shiraz. Wine Pricing in Australia has become an arms race and this new Cuvée has set the benchmark at $1650 for a magnum - only available in magnum. This was sourced from a vineyard in the Moppa sub district of the Barossa owned by Glen Hammerling from vines planted in 1992 on original rootstocks, dry grown in deep sandy loam with ironstone over clay. The wine itself is an exercise in restraint. Matured in a large 2500 litre fourdre imparting minimal oak influence. You could happily drink this wine now or cellar for over 30 years. It is so well balanced. A brilliant wine but is it worth $1650? I think the pricing is too ambitious but the owner of Peter Lehmann, John Casella, the owner of export star, Yellow Tail, probably doesn’t care as he continues to make money from his budget line. 1458 magnums created and only 1000 released for purchase. — 5 years ago
Too harsh after opening; leather and dark olives. Next day cleared! Cherries and plums in balance with light oak. — 8 years ago

It shows complexity on the nose, savory and gamey, but still full of dark fruits, herbs and spices. Silky tannins, hard to tell it is a 8 years wine. Lack of complexity on the palate, juicy and attractive. May develop complexity after further aging. Barossa Cab is under evaluated comparing to its Shiraz — 5 years ago
