La Dame de Malescot

Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2018

2018 vintage. Second wine of Cru Classé Malescot Saint-Exupéry. Charming nose with ripe black cherries, raspberry jam and some floral hints. This medium-bodied, fruit-driven Margaux is drinking well already with silky tannin and good length. Not very complex, but a very charming wine indeed. Abv. 14%. Good value at less than half the price of the Grand Vin, even if I would rate the less expensive La Tour de Bessan (tasted alongside) higher. — 2 years ago

Domaine Belluard

mousseux Méthode Traditionnelle Ayse Vin de Savoie Perles du Mont Blanc

Golden yellow, nice gentle fizz on pour. Clean fermented aromas, floral and dried fruit flavors, a lot of varietal character on the finish, good acidity overall. Different but enjoyable — a year ago

Château de Villegeorge

Cru Bourgeois Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

To fully understand the Lurton family one needs to be a professional genealogist, but if you meet a Lurton in Bordeaux it would be safe to bet she/he is involved in wine business. Marie-Laure is one of the 10 children of Lucien Lurton, and she owns Chateau de Villegeorge in Haut-Médoc and Tour de Bessan in Margaux. Villegeorge 2010 is blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (79%) and Merlot (21%). Attractive nose of cassis, cedar wood and violets. Still plenty of very ripe fruit at 10 years old, good concentration and length. Fine value today at 28 euro. — 4 years ago
