Tasted 28/04/2016
Vibrant, intriguing, eloquent nectar made of Heida (Savagnin Blanc), idiosyncratic to Valais.
Dense shimmering brass color, golden glitters.
Wet hay, mint, soaked apples, quince, sage, limestone, pinecone. Caramelized peach.
Fat-bodied, zesty palate. Lively acidity supported by tough mineral kick and kumquat peels, unripe cantaloupe, bruised quince, laurel, sage flavors.
Interminable finish...
Unique winexperience!

Pairings... I tried several ones.
First was 'C_Bro favorite': cute little bunny, trapped, skinned, disemboweled and baked in sourcream with allspice, garlic, onion, juniper, carrots and thyme.
Than - moderatetly spicy grilled reindeer sausages.
And finally mature + blue mold cheese plate.
All three played well. — 9 years ago
An unusual winner from Canton Valais. Some butter, some spice .... — 11 years ago
It is amazing to find wine of Burgundian quality in Switzerland… but the areas do share a common terroir. Fantastic aromatic white. — 3 months ago
Fantastic white, enjoyed in Findler Hof (Zermatt) with AM in Mar 2014 — 12 years ago
2011 vintage. Beautiful. I love this wine, and am sad I won't be working with it anymore. Top shelf white Burg if it was made in Switzerland. — 10 years ago
Powerful, profound, expressive. Magnifique. — 11 years ago

At Sunday clan get together 8/10/25. Want popular and brought home. A mountain stony acidic group that makes this a terrific white for a variety of food pairing. Too bad no more. — 2 months ago
