Really tannic (the hard stemmy type), dark, olive, lavender, rather dense. Either needs more time in bottle or less stems in the cuve — 10 years ago
V complex but elegant nose- kirsch, herbs and olive with loads of meaty dark flavours. let down only by the high alcohol — 10 years ago
Chalky, tannic cab. Oak is nicely integrated, body med plus. — 11 years ago
Unfined, unfiltered 2014 vintage.
Chamaleontic, funky drop.
Nose dominated by black olives in brine, preserved plum, soy sauce, balsamic, black forest fruits, cinnamon, clove, bay leaf.
Elegant palate, tannin in place and refreshing acidity with a good length.
Barossa meets the Rhone.
Amusing, intriguing and delicious.

Beautiful biodynamic Syrah from Ardeché. After 90 minutes, showing with notes of blackberry jam, blueberry, green olive, cured meat, and a tiny hint of ink towards the very end. Silky smooth mouthfeel. — 7 years ago
Very strong dark fruits hit very fast and drop quickly. Low tannin. Mild finish. Very drinkable. — 7 years ago
Yep Mrs E popped another 🤣 the 09 Sass (10th try) & @ £138-£180 is going to be a lovely 😈 in time if Mrs E stops opening them 🤣 Notes similar as before but dryness is easing & other subtle changes appearing 😁

Incredible. Jaboulet family apparently inconsistent in final years of ownership, but this one had everything. So dense still, with lots of kalamata olive, olive brine, cherry, blackberry, black pepper, leather, cured meat, earth. Savory, sweet, powerful, elegant, hit every end of the taste spectrum. Super long. In magnum — 9 years ago
Lovely cool vintage St.-Joseph-ish style; black olive, sage & lavender layered over blueberries and bitter cherries. Bright and fresh, but you can find just as good for way less in the northern Rhône. — 10 years ago
Intensely peppery, black fruit, olive, game. — 11 years ago
Classic and great vintage of La Mish. Deep dark color, very aromatic nose of black fruits, with smoky, tarry, tobacco, leather, black olive, basalmic, soy, cedar and saddle leather. Still drinking young and long finish reaching full maturity. Just an amazing wine! — 11 years ago

— 7 years ago
