Pours a deep cherry with a tawny rim. Nose of an old cedar chest of drawers, blueberry, blackcurrant and earth - very polished. Those notes from the nose translate onto the medium + bodied palate - reflecting the excellent vintage. It’s easy to get swept up with Grand Cru Burgundy but don’t forget about aged classed growth Bordeaux of quality like this - just superb. Went well with Roast Beef for Sunday Lunch. — 8 months ago
Rated this over five years ago. All I can say is “ditto” — a year ago
Absolutely perfect nose of forest floor - characteristic of an old Bordeaux. Red fruit and nicely integrated tannins. Still at a high point of the vintage. — 2 years ago
The Old Vine is where their line up starts to get more interesting.
The Old Vine is thicker, richer & more brooding. The fruits are more; ruby, lush and dark. Blackberries, black raspberries, dark plum, dark cherries and strawberries overlay the top. Nicely layered baking spices-cinnamon, nutmeg, soft clove and vanilla, crushed rocks, alluvial limestone & volcanics, graphite, tobacco, used leather, dark spices, saddle-wood, cocoa, mocha, caramel with fresh & withering red, dark & purple florals. Excellent acidity and a nicely balanced, knitted & elegant finish. — 6 years ago
Surprised by the vibrancy of this 38 year old. — 7 years ago
Killed me in blind tasting. So tight and with fine tannins, thought it was a CS. Amazing wine, so refined — 6 months ago
#AgedWineTuesday

This is a delicious 15 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from the great 2010 vintage in Bordeaux. Rich and extracted. Complex and engaging. Powerful and spicy.
Showing nice complexity with a great mouthfeel. Fruit forward and interesting.
Drinking very nicely now and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.
Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food, like a big piece of steak.
A blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot. Aged in (60% new) French Oak barrels for 21 months.
13.5% alcohol by volume.

Just beautiful old, left bank BDX... But drink now — a year ago
The 2008 Cheval Blanc is one of the go-to wines of the vintage. Now at 15 years old, it has retained the energy and focus it displayed from the outset: black fruit, crushed stone, wilted violet petals and touches of forest floor cohere wonderfully in the glass. The Cabernet here is more expressive. The palate has a slight chewiness on the entry, but it "relaxes" in the glass. It shows off its delicate lattice of tannins and perhaps a bit more backbone than I have observed on previous bottles. It's very intense on the finish where, as before, the Cabernet Franc takes charge. Superb. Keep it another three to four years if you can. Tasted at the Lia's Wings/book dinner at Medlar restaurant. Roasted paprika, salmiac, drying tannins, figs, broth, cigar, sweet rhubarb, stewed pears, juniper. Printing, ink. Clay, blackberries. An old gentleman. — 4 years ago
Love this. Rated it before but had to rate again as different vintage. So much of what a Lodi Zin should be. I wish it was available in Canada as it becomes ridiculously expensive when a trip to Lodi is added to the bottle cost. LOL. But seriously my favourite wine. Hands down! — 6 years ago
Super delicious strong zin, buy — 7 years ago
Very dark with a robust taste. I would buy it again. — 7 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed from red Solo cups over the course of a few hours. This bottle of the 1966 came to party! The wine pours a garnet color with a near translucent core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears and loads sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with beautiful notes of black and red currants, Montmorency cherry, tobacco, Poblano pepper, pencil shavings, old leather bound books, espresso, loads of organic and inorganic earth, and a pleasant mix of cool and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin (integrated) and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. What a fantastic performance by the ‘66. Drink now though similarly stored examples won’t be falling off a cliff anytime soon. — 7 months ago

This is a delicious Merlot based blend from Saint Julien. Elegant and spicy. Fruit forward and chocolatey.
I've had a few vintages of this wine and it is very consistent and always delicious, especially with age.

From 80-100 year old vines. Olives and game. Feral. Awesome nose, spice and herbals, minerals and lovely depth, somewhat vegetal that needs to age out. Big and sappy and pure. Lovely tannins and ripeness and crazy depth and purity. Long finish. Young but wonderful and deep. Excellent. 9.5 with air the nose is more harmonious, so good. Juicy, linear and lean. Very precise and skinny. — 3 years ago
40 years old but still in a very good shape, typical green pepper nose, medium body but stays for more than 30 seconds — 4 years ago
Great for a fish place — 7 years ago
