Tasty, but I may be bias π β 7 years ago
Mid Lemon. A nose of citrus but a palate of stone fruit. White peach and cream. Palate staining intensity with great length. Oak is totally integrated into the fruit at 9 years. Used to be regarded as Australia's premier Chardonnay and probably still is depending on your style preference. Other Margaret River icons plus Giaconda , Oakridge and Bindi amongst others in the East also vying for the mantle. World class. Halliday once compared the 1987 to a premier Cru Puligny. β 7 years ago
Good value at about $20USD. But completely forgettable an hour after you drink it... β 8 years ago
A little thin but refreshing... β 8 years ago
Made in the typical Oakridge style, zesty citrus fruits, clean acid line, oak providing length and intensity to the flavours, but not weighing down the wine in the least. People who wrinkle their noses, and say, "I hate Chardonnay" should buy a bottle of this and shut their mouths. Or not, then there's more for me! β 9 years ago
Expressive nose with apple, toast and baking spices. More restrained palate with pear and nuttiness. Great contradiction. β 9 years ago
Celebrating Australia Day. You would expect a good producer of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to make a good NV and they have. 74% Chardonnay and 26% Pinot Noir. Aged on lees for 36 months. Good fruit flavours and complexity. Not overly acidic. Thanks to Oakridge for the complimentary bottle. 17- β 9 years ago
Lovely medium weight. Great fruit and oak balance. Delish. β 10 years ago
So delicate, balanced and bright- I am going to brown bag this on Cinnamon for sure! β 11 years ago
Let it breath for a while and you won't be disappointed. A rich Pinot with good length. β 7 years ago
From Margaret River Chardonnay specialist, Pierro. Mid Lemon in colour. Mealy nutty aromas of almond and cashew. Restrained stone fruit with some ripe grapefruit on a medium bodied palate. Great balance between the new leaner style of Aussie Chard like Oakridge 864 and the traditional full bodied style like Leeuwin Art Series - both great Chards themselves. Excellent. β 8 years ago
Stalky goodness. β 8 years ago
Before Pinot ruled in the Yarra Valley, Cabernet was King and this wine hearkens back to that time. It shouldn't be a surprise considering the likes of Mount Mary and Yarra Yering but this region can produce some top class Cabs. 25 years on and this is a little beauty, cool and elegant, fully mature with earth, wood and a hint of spice. Lovely. β 8 years ago
Dave Bicknell (Oakridge) has struck out on his own to make this classically Gippsland Pinot. I love the balance of dark Gippsland fruit and mouth puckering acidity. Quite a debut! James Haliday 97 pointer β 9 years ago
Fabulous Pinot β 9 years ago
2nd best Oakridge Chardonnay to their 864 but punching well above its weight. Fuller creamier palate than some of the leaner burnt match styles from David Bicknell. Very good 17.5+. Drank another one 2 years later on 26 March 2017. A bit of whole bunch funk. Citrus notes but filling out on the palate to be medium bodied and delicious. Impressive. Would give it 92 points now. β 9 years ago
For a Chardonnay it's not heavy or woody, nor sweet. A delightful balance.

Light, tangy, not particularly earthy or funky but has good balance. Smooth and easy drinking. Quite enjoyable but nothing inspiring. β 7 years ago
light & easy, bday gift β 7 years ago
Outstanding wine from a brilliant vintage. Under screw cap, fresh as a daisy. White peach, minerals and balance. Acid is perfectly integrated through the wine. This is class β 7 years ago
Very good Pinot noir. Quite peppery. Mmmm! β 8 years ago

Lovely buttery Chardonnay β 8 years ago
Very smooth β 9 years ago
Great citrus and stone fruits on a long palate, oak is strong but not overpowering, good wine. β 9 years ago
This is impressive. Pure fruit, great balance, deep enticing aromas, wonderful texture. I'd love to see this with a few years behind it but tts drinking well enough now. β 9 years ago
